Having regrets does not justify the sin we commit, however regret is useful in that it can move us to repent for the wrong we did.
Regrets also make us more likely to advise someone else against making the same mistake we did, and so we can help another person out and so some good.
That's why I so admire those courageous women who are out there sharing their stories and telling the truth about abortion and help steer other women away from making that terrible decision.

Regret does not justify anything. You regret something because you know you shouldn´t have done it because it was wrong and it hurt the other person. There is no justification for raping or beating anyone even if you regret it afterwards. Abortion is another controversial topic that may or may not have a justification for it but whether or not a women regrets having an abortion does not justify the fact that she went through with it.
