Is the reason that it’s forbidden in Islam to create a likeness of Muhammed is that Muhammed is afraid that Jack Bauer will recognize him.

I am Muslim and I love me some Jack Bauer, but Jack has nothing to do with my Beloved Prophet(peace be upon him) Everyone that makes stupid comments knows they don't know nothing about him at all. Take the time to read up it may just make you think twice about what you let come out of your mouth and your hands. It is forbidden to create images. Many religions worship images of what their god looks likes. There are groups of ppl that worship Muhammad(pbuh) even if he has said not too and the punish for doing so. I don't know why

Please check out the links below

Verse 8 is powerful for us to reflect upon, where we see an angel speaking to John after he fell to worship the angel - ""No, don't worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers the prophets, as well as all who obey what is written in this scroll. Worship God!""

@Samuel J
Your response clearly shows how much you can carry in your brain. You might be worshipping idols 5 times a day but we dont.

It is forbidden to make pictures of any living being(plants are ok). Prophets fall in that category. Its the some in christianity & Judaism. If the asker is from one of these religions, surely the asker doesn't no much about his own religion.

In the ten commandment
"You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above(1), or that is on the earth beneath(2), or that is in the water under the earth(3)."

1-We see Dove pictures in the churches
2-We see idols of Mary (Blessings be on her) - Jesus (PBUH)
3-We see pictures of Turtle/fish in the church.
Amazing haan!

In Moses PBUH time. He use to take bath alone when it was normal for men to take bath in the same place. Some ignorant/hypocrite people started saying bad things behind him that he must have some defect in he's body. Whereas Moses was doing it in modesty. But later they learned the truth that he had No problems.

Prophet Muhammed PBUH was the most beautiful on Earth. You can ask about how he looked like from the Scholars of Hadith(Islam). If you are seriously interested. Its all mentioned. How his pure Face was, his eyes, his hair, his teeth, his eye brows, his height, his walk, his actions when giving a speech, his tolerance. His goats/horses/camels names are also given, plus on which occasion he travelled on which horse/camel. These are just a FEW

Those who say he was ugly (He is above such blasphemy), May Allah make his face ugly on the day of JUDGEMENT(where there wont be any kind of injustice or Media ;)

the answer is crystal clear and very simple brother,

we respect all prophets equally and we do not worship men like u do. we respect all prophets sincerely and we also beleive that no man can be God and God is not jobless nor impotent to have a Son.

Jesus-pbuh ' birth was a miracle and divine message that God is capable of doing anything. it was a proof that God gave to show His presence as the people on this eartb were being lead astray.

and by the way the sacrificial lamb theory is also wrong. we do not sacrifise lamb for anyone's sin, but we do it because it is a sincere attempt to remember how great Abraham-pbuh was to sacrifise his own son ishmael.

and no man can ever die for someone elses sin and may be when jesus-pbuh will return then Inshallah (Godwilling) he himself will tell u this.

as for the fact that muhammed (pbuh) was not mentioned in bible. there is one verse which im giving u.
deuteronomy 18:18-19
'i will raise up for them a prophet like u from among their brothers, I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, i myself will call him to account.'

also its really pathetic state, the church u call a place of worship has put u in. i mean u follow half of the religion because half of the bible was burnt and destroyed as early as 100AD by the ARCHBISHOP and it was not a muslim who did it. it was the very own church of urs.

well really surprising how u dont question the authority of church to decide what is right and what is wrong. now i guess thats what blind faith is all about.

now u guys need to put on a thinkin cap and think on again about urselves?

ouch thruth does hurt

Because they obey the 10 commandments. The the 3rd commandment states that to obey God one can never make an image of Him, nor of the angels nor of anthing to be worshiped in Heaven, the Earth, in the sea and under the Earth. This is why we do not have any images from Biblical times. The hebrews/Isrealites/ Jews never made any.TRhe images of Angels which God commisioned Moses to make of the Ark and tabernacle which did have images of Angels was distroyed by God long ago to leave no record of them today. This is why we have no images of Jesus or anyone else from Biblical times who were considered of God.

We don't want the pictures of Muhammad to become idols of worship like so many other things. It starts out with someone drawing a picture of somebody out of respect and admiration of them. Then they make a statue. Next thing you know they are worshipping that person without even realizing it.

you desire to do away with Islamic Depictions of Mohammed, so as that human beings can not see them, as a results of fact it extremely is blasphemous... Wasn't it blasphemous whilst those photos have been drawn? Why has it replaced? a buddy as quickly as tried to sell Islam to me as a faith, utilising the shown fact that it extremely is unique in mainstream religions as a results of fact the holy e book remains examine and understood in it extremely is unique language, which ability it has on no account been project to the doubtful translations that the Christian books have. Did the artist who painted "llustration showing Mohammed (on the main dazzling) preaching his very final sermon to his earliest converts, on Mount Ararat close to Mecca; taken from a medieval-era manuscript of the astronomical treatise the relax warning signs of previous Centuries by utilising the Persian student al-Biruni" (no URL 'cos it may offend) no longer understand that he should not be utilising a picture of Mohammed? Has the Koran replaced as a results of fact the photograph replaced into made (even with what my buddy advised me)? i'm no longer attempting to offend all and sundry's religious sensabilities, i basically can not reconcile this "Islam makes use of the holy e book in it extremely is unique language, for this reason it extremely is organic" concept with the concept what replaced into as quickly as ok has replaced to be no longer ok.

because Islam is not a paganism faith and believe that Muhammad PBUH is the messenger of God and was sent as a human to be the perfect example for people. muslims avoid idolize Muhammad PBUH to purify their worship and submission to God (Allah) only. That's why we don't show his physical images. we love his personality however he looked like.

since we dont know how he looks like we cannot create a false image like they do with Jesus. Also people might start worshipping the image of the Propher (p.b.u.h). actually we are not supposed to make any life form images.

I am sure it is forbidden, plus the Ranaussance (spelt wrong, I am sure) passed the midle East over, which is where Jesus got his image from.

The Arabs are still waiting for the Renaussaance so they can catch up

i think the huge fuss with the picture of Mohamed situation was more about exaggeration then anything else, yes they believe that people shouldn't look at Mohamed as a form or shape of something solid but more as a spiritual leader, and then again they exaggerated.
