I graduated from elementary school a few years ago and well if I were in the hospital I would want a fun handheld game. I Spy books are really cool too, I really like them and so does my little brother. When I said a handheld game, I didn't mean an educational one, adults would of course prefer that, but kid's wouldn't because they're not fun. Now I'm not saying to get a killing game either, you could get a used game boy advance they are only $25 and a used game like Crazy Chase -$5. Trust me they will like it. :)

his friends, hospitals are scary and most of the kids are super sick or dying. just think how that brings down the play group. Real friends and a board-game are a sure fire win. but talk to the Dr first, nurses always say no but doctors have the final say if they write it as an order.

my friend and I were just talking about the Potato Heads they've made into Star Wars characters. I think those would cheer any kid up (they have Darth Tater, Spud Trooper and Artoo-Potatoo)
Or just regular Mr Potato Head....they're fun to play with with all the different pieces and places to put em.
amazon.com has all 3 of the Star Wars ones and I know KMart has Darth

I think (assuming they are able) books are good, Reading books, coloring books, puzzle books. I remember my sister asking for those when she was stuck in the hospital for a few days as a kid. It helped her take her mind off her injury, and avoid boredom.

Coloring books and activity books. Stuffed animals are always a hit to. Give them a game that they can play or a art and crafty type of activity.

The best thing you can give them is some of your time visit them if you can talk to them read, play some kind of game. For a child in the hosp. having some there other then hosp. staff is great.

Anything that they can do in the hospital. It can get very boring. Any type of game type toy would be great.
