If you read this board, you will know the answer is "not much". However, people don't like to be preached to, so I would suggest you promote religious education in the schools -- what I mean is I think every high school should have an elective course in comparative religions. Not to indoctrinate anyone, just to educate on the basic beliefs. It's a "flat world" as Thomas Friedman always says, and kids will be meeting and working with people from all religions when they start work.

I am not Muslim, I was born catholic, and I have looked into Islam. I have read a part of the Quran. I actually own the Quran, as well as a Bible. I have not come to my conclusion about Islam. I find it, as well as other religions very confusing from what I personally believe in and what Muslims, Christians, Jewish and other religions are doing in this life. I do know that Muslim men from what I have seen do treat women very well, and I do know that unlike our American standards some Muslim countries like Saudi-Arabia and Iran are very strict with woman yet they are not treated badly. They are just restricted to what they can do without a man. As go in public, drive a car, show there hair or chest. As the Quran allows men to do this and all these restrictions have good reasons in the day they were written. Yet in today's society there is not much need for such a restriction. Yet other countries as Pakistan, some parts of U.A.E. are more relaxed and women are not restricted as much. So my basic view point on Islam as with any other religion is do not judge the religion on the people who claim to represent it, read their Holy book and decide for your self. When reading the Quran keep in mind the time it was written and some of the statements it makes are beyond there knowledge at that time. So something extra-ordinary was behind its writing.

Samuel J, I don't recall him asking for your uneducated religious propaganda. You want to talk about a "religion from Satan"? Christianity is the epitome of paganism. Why don't you critique your own religion. Study the Roman God Attis! Attis predated Jesus. Attis was: 1) Born of a virgin 2) Had 12 disciples, 3) did a ministry work, 4) offered wine and bread, saying it was his flesh and blood and anyone partaking of it would have salvation, 5) believing in him was a part of your salvation, 6) died by crucifixion, 7) was resurrected on the 3rd day, 8) ascended into heaven.
Pagan, period.
Jesus didn't say HALF the things recorded in the Gospels. They were written over 100 years later than the 'presumed' time of Jesus. Remember that. If salvation in Jesus was based on believing in him, then why didn't HE write ANYTHING? He didn't, neither did Sri Krishna, neither did The Buddha.
I respect Islam. Atleast Islam is free from 'paganism'.
To the visitors, go ahead and give me a bad vote. I am sure it will make you feel you are doing the "Lord's work" and make you feel better about your belief of lies.
Be good.

@John O'Keefe
I tried looking into christianity but what do i do when Jesus himself says that he was ONLY send for the lost sheeps of Israel. And none can reach God accept through Jesus means that the lost sheeps has to follow the exact actions & teachings of Jesus PBUH.
And Jesus said that he cannot tell people everything for they wouldn't understand then. So another Prophet would come & we know that after 600 yrs after him Prophet Muhammed came. The Last Prophet PBUH. People knew him as an honest & trustworthy man. He worked VERY hard like other Prophets to spread the word of God. So taking Jesus's advice i'm following the Last Prophet.
And those who complain about the same "Kill infidel" thing again & again should know there is violence in christianity as well. Jesus asks to by swords when the time come & in other places it has mass murder etc... You just choose to ignore it. I'm not insulting the religion but showing that violence is not the criteria to judge the religion. Cause oppresion should not be tolerated. Even in Buddhism you have to pickup weapons if the need comes. Ask a learned man of buddhism.
And if this religion was all about violence, this Ummah of the last prophet is there for 1400 yrs out of which we had 1000 yrs for ourselves. We could have easily killed all infidels.
Its very easy to find soem of violence & some of womens right/beating from our literate & fulfill your purpose. But thats the nature of a Pig. even if you live it in the Garden it will look for dirt. Dont be like that. Study the whole religion...Plz

I think you have it wrong. It's not other people who have Islam wrong, it's Islam that has it wrong.
Here is a quote from the site you gave:
"Every Arabic Qur'an in the world today is, letter for letter, identical to this ancient script. Due to this preservation, the Quran exists today exactly as it did over 1,400 year ago in a language which is still alive today. I have found the Qur'an's teachings to be quite clear, consistent, and practical for application even in today's so called "modern world." "
Hasn't changed huh? Last I heard, the Quaran was changed big time, and part of it burnt. But lying is acceptable by Islam. So I am not surprised by your actions.
If the teachings are quite clear, then tell me:
Is Hezbollah a bunch of nutcases?
I want muslims to start asking questions on Y!A on why they think Hezbollah are a bunch of nutcases.

You are absolutely right that many Muslims do not know their own religion. Unfortunately, many islamic teachings call for intolerance and violence. This does not mean that Islam also has very beautiful teachings as well.

I know enough about it to remain a Christian.
That is to say, I know many people who are Muslim - 90% of those I know are very good people, honest and hardworking, however I will freely admit that the US Media has tainted my view of the religion overall.
All Muslims are not terrorists, and all terrorists are not Muslim. I know this, but one has to wonder why a religion would say "Kill the infidels and go to heaven" and still say it is 100% peaceful.
Chritianity has had its run in with what might be called terroristic actions, but overall that was well over 500 years ago.

I know the people who follow the religion run the gamut from near saints to scum of the earth. Just like in any religion.
I know the message of the Quaran can be uplifting and beautiful, as well as frightening and horrible. Just like most religions.
And I know that its adherants can wildly misconstrue the message while at the same time stay strictly loyal to the letter of the text. Just like Christians.

I know that not all Muslims are terrorist. I know that there are some very good Muslims. My complaint is that when terrorists acts take place we see Islamic leaders ( radical extremest ) speaking for the terrorists and you never see the good Muslims condemning the acts or asserting "that's not us". The silence of the good is taken as the acceptance of the bad.

There seems to be a statement(often quoted) that if a muslim kills a kafir(non-believer) he will go to heaven.
One of my friends who knows urdu, told this is the worst misintrepretation ever, and has caused so much blood bath.
"Kufr" is the root of the word "kafir", and it means the "ego" which is the non-believer.If the ego is terminated, our looking glass is cleansed of its stains, and we are able to see "IT" as it really IS : this is the HEAVENLY EXPERIENCE. What is your opinion?
