With going through Step for many years and having my tonsils removed finally at 18 years old... You have the white puss pockets as they call them , you have strep... I would talk to your doctor about taking out your tonsils... I have not had strep one single time since I had this done. Now I don't know what your age is, but I will warn you its not the most comfortable feeling in the world.. I will take you about a week to recover and eat normal food again. Hope you get to feeling better. You can also try something that my doctors did with me. You take a cap to the liquid Motrin or something like that mix half with cherry may lox, and the other half with cherry benedryl, and drink up. It will coat your throat and make it feel a little better.

Occurrence of throat problem normally occurs when we eat sweets or any sweetened food and unconsciously forgot to brush our teeth immediately. Here's some tips on how to avoid such pain, whatever you take orally, if you're not at home (where we usually left our personal stuff) make sure you gargle with water after very intake of solid foods to avoid formation or development of micro-organisms that would possibly develop into bacteria. In your case, since you are already experiencing the pain, try put a lukewarm water into a glass and mixed with a two tablespoon-full each of iodized salt and vinegar and gargle. If possible, make the solution stock on your mouth slowly elevating your face upward until you can fill the solution reaching your throat. The longer you hold that position the better but please don't push yourself. Give it up if you feel you can no longer hold it. Surely, it taste different bunt it's proven effective, trust me. Do the process at least twice a day especially before bedtime. Good luck.

Viruses go away on their own. Strep won't go away on it's own because it's bacterial. You need to go to the doctor to figure out what it is. If it's a virus, you can manage it with OTC stuff. If it's a bacteria, you need prescription antibiotics.

Gargling warm saltwater is supposed to help with a sore throat. Don't really know how, but that's what my mother tells me! She's a nurse.

I think the best thing to do is to go and get medical attention because you dont want to wait until the problem worsens!!!
