I don't believe in the after-life type of 'purgatory', but I have been through it's description here on earth. It was called Hinkley, California, in the Mojave desert. There were 'toilet rooms' there, but, 'rest'? There was no 'rest', until I got out of the desert. There are no kicks on Route 66.

purgatory is a state in which the souls of those who have died in grace must expiate (to make amends) their sins. so i think there should be toilets there cause not allowing them to go to the bathroom doesn't seem to be a penance to me because i doubt the spirits in charge of purgatory want to mop up urine and fecal matter for eternity!

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but isn't purgatory somewhere you go when you die??? If so, I'd say they don't have restrooms, as you're dead, so you have no need of restrooms...

Your genitals probably won't work after death. There is probably no water in Purgatory anyway.

No food, no drinks - why restrooms then?
...or am I wrong - do they actually provide food & drinks just to test your ethics?
