. . . the three finishes with any paint are Gloss - Silk - Matt : if you think about those words they become self explanatory - Gloss is shiny, Silk is smooth, Matt is dull.
Vinyl is a form of plastic, a "vinyl" paint is ideal for kitchens and bathrooms as it wipes clean easily - if you check the tins you will see Vinyl Silk and Vinyl Matt. I tend to use Gloss for woodwork and Vinyl Silk for everything else ie. walls and ceilings . . .

Nothing. You are talking about two different things.
Vinyl is the stuff the paint is made from (a sort of plastic).
Silk is the "finish" of the dry surface.
Vinyl and silk will come in any number of colours.
You can get a paint called vinyl silk. Yours might be just that - check!!

I used to sell paint years ago, Vinyl Silk you can wipe over gentle with damp cloth, a slight sheen to the paint, Vinyl Matt Has no sheen ,flat finish, used for walls, Gloss high shine used for wood,
Silthane Silk is a higher sheen finish than,V/Silk,V/Matt,for walls.
This paint is better for B/rooms, Kitchens, it does not contain so mush oil base than gloss, less running of condensation lines.
Hope this helps you I'm a women now living in spain with many decorating jobs..good luck.

if it is vinyl matt it will give you a dull flat finish but it can get marked and dirty hard to keep clean, vinyl silk will give you a high sheen finish easy to keep clean also good in bathrooms and kitchens where you can get condensation

its just a matter of sheen, the silk has a higher sheen, but with the higher sheen comes increased durability and
washability.
