No, I think a lot of the mindset that goes into blindly supporting an errored war and a blatant lie has an awful lot to do with being very selfish.

"protect me at all costs.." "if it doesn't affect me directly, I don't care"

The two things that move a blind conservative (not all, just the dumb blind ones) are personal security and money... so they would never go to war, they would say, "those boys signed up for the military, they knew what they were getting themselves into..."

my little brother is riding machine gun on top of a hummer over there... he signed up to get his life in order, and do something positive in the process, and he signed up before george had his little war... when our military was still doing things in our own best interest, like finding osama....

I protested this war since day one... and i would gladly change his place with any one of these blind conservatives children...

The army just raised it's enrollment age to 45, why don't they put their money where their mouth is... or their life... then maybe their blind support would actually have some dignity behind it...

No they shouldn't. Not everyone can be a soldier. I much prefer the supporters being here and welcoming back the troops than I do the creeps that constantly go to the soldiers funerals and protest. Yes to all. There are many groups protesting at our young soldiers funerals. Send those people to Iraq for a while.

I fail to see how an ideological viewpoint would cause anyone to feel or not feel guilt.

I am currently in Iraq, and do not believe we belong here. Should I feel guilty for that? No, and I do not. I have my opinions, but I also have a job to do. I am doing what my Commander in Chief (no matter how wrong he is) has ordered me to do. I do it because I am told it is the best thing for the American People.

No they don't. If I hadn't joined, I would still support the troops (not bush), and I wouldn't feel guilty for not joining. It's a choice to be in the military. I joined to fight for my country. I just forgot that bush is getting us killed one by one.

Yeah, I feel guilty because I'm too old to go and kill the people that believe it's okay to kill Americans in the name of Allah. I feel guilty because I can't directly defend your right to whine. I did my time in Viet Nam, what have you done for your country?

I doubt they feel guilt. Idealogues rarely feel guilt about frenzied support of their ideology. Keep in mind this applies to all ideologues, not just the ones supporting the war in Iraq.

The problem with supporting a war is that being in favor of it without being willing to participate in it is cowardice and hypocrisy. As I said, though, I doubt any war supporters feel guilt about staying home and letting others go off to die in their stead, or guilt about the families shattered by death or maiming because of a war.

Would people who think we should not have gone into Iraq feel guilty by allowing Saddam to murder more of his own people, and steal their money, and facilitate terror? I doubt it, probably would be Americas fault for not doing anything.
