I'm well educated in the criminal justice field. If you were driving 61 in a 45, then the best thing to do is say you were guilty. You get good points for telling the truth. When you go in front of the judge, be extremely nice (Use YES/NO your honor), dress nice as possible (NO Cleavage, NO Short Skirts, Where a dress or pants suit if possible), make sure you look the judge in the eye's, no smileing or frowning just a normal face the whole time, and also yes you should pray to God about it. On a personal note don't drive fast because you might hurt someone or yourself.

Even when you pay the smallest fee, if you're paying, it means going to your records. When you get a traffic citation it doesn't mean you are guilty already, when you go to court you can ask to see the officer who gave you the ticket; 99% of the time they do not show up and the case is dismissed, I'm serious. Now if you can get a attorney they usually charge about $50 and they can get your case dismissed and it won't go to your records, I've done this. It really is a business between attorneys and local governments; they know how it works they know how to do it. Don't you hate it? The fact remains, it was your fault. The fact remains you could get dismissed even when it was your fault. I just preferred not to pay to anybody, but if it comes to that you better pay an attorney which would be cheaper than your ticket and will keep your records clean

Traffic court is a simple procedure.
If the cop used radar, you are busted.
Pleading innocent will only make the judge mad and it insults him and the cop. If you even slightly suspect you were speeding just plead guilty and take your lumps girl. The judge is more likely to give you the minumum fine if you seem repentant.
If there were other cars behind you maybe they were the speeders that the radar picked up.
If you were the only car on the road, you are nailed lady.
Confess your sin to the earthly judge and the heavenly judge and get on with your life.
honesty is the best policy.

21 miles over the speed limit. Did you do it? Did they get you on radar, or clock you? Will the cop show up and testify as to your speed if you do a 'not guilty' plea?
You didn't say what state, but it is going to be expensive. And yes, it will add points to your license. Perhaps you can enter into a payment arrangement with the judge if you ask.

Don't go 16 miles over the speed limit and you won't have that problem! If you were going like 5 over, you could probably fight that yourself however 16 miles over the limit, you need to hire an attorney to even have a chance. If you try to fight it, you will most likely just tick tick the judge off and end up paying more in fines. I would suggest taking responsibility for your actions.

I can't believe you are fighting a speeding ticket. you probly wont win and the judge can accually make the penalty worse if he or she is in a bad mood. you should have taken a drivers corse online, you don't even have to leave home, it's really easy and the points will be waved. the fine is the same but atleast you insurance won't go up. not many people win against speeding tickets, I hope you have family in law inforcement.

It will cost quite a bit, more than the ticket itself, but if you win there will be no points on your license. We just fought a ticket for going 15 over and we won. Yesterday we were clocked doing 42mph in a 30mph zone. I AM EXTREMELY SUPRISED THAT HE ONLY GAVE US A WARNING!!

I agree w/ ROCK. Also, you may want to talk to the city attorney, and if this is your 1st offense, see if they will remove this from your record if you don't get any more violations in the next year. But, admit your fault.
