Everytime I connect with a guy online he wants me to call him or to call me. I don't give out my phone number to anyone so I prefer to call them. I much prefer emailing through the dating service though where as it seems most guys want to talk on the phone almost immediately. I havenl't found that talking to someone on the phone has made a difference because I have met guys that I talked to on the phone that where dating disasters and I have met nice guys that I never talked to on the phone. The main reason is I work afternoon till late evening and when I get home at 10 or 10 30 I haven't eaten or had a break in 8 or 9 hours so I'm hungry, tired, and don't feel like talking on the phone. I have to fix something to eat, eat, bathe, wash my face, look at my mail, etc and I can do that while emailing back and forth but if I talk on the phone, well that's all I can do then and I end up having to stay up too late to get the stuff done after I get the person off the phone.

Your reasons seem pretty good to me. I prefer chat or email myself, as I love to write; and it gives me more chance to think about what I say before I say it. And I can do it when I'm in the mood for it, not when someone else feels like talking.

You are FAR from weird. I don't know why so many people want to talk on the phone. I find it very tiring, because , you have to try so hard to hear someone , and the background noise is too much.

When you give people an invitation to call you, they will call constantly. You may not be feeling well, you might be sleeping, it might be stressful to hear the phone ring.

My friend and I always write e mail. I had to tell some people several times, that I don't like knowing someone is going to call,
because the ring makes me nervous. It's easier to remember what you said , id it's print.

Sometimes I wish I hadn't met some people, because all they want to do is call and talk about nothing. When you email, you can really think things through, and say the most important things, and have a record of what you said.

Some people I know are far away, and I can't see making the phone bill worse, when email and Facebook are free, even paid
email is better than paying a hundred dollars for a call overseas.

One reason I dislike talking on the phone is because I hate the way my voice sounds over the phone. yet another excuse is that if I wanna say something personal there might want to be human beings round eavesdropping. And texting is for sale in case you merely wanna provide someone a speedy message like if i'm in college i visit textual content my mom and tell her to go back %. me up early.XD

No you are not weird & I feel about the same, however I have found that a headset attached to the phone (leaving both hands free) is helpful & I just limit the time I talk on the phone.

No, you are not weird. I completely understand. Women are multi-taskers and men are single-minded. I feel the same way and if you are weird then I have to admit I am weird. I just do not like talking on the phone because it limits what else I could be doing while talking and then they guy gets all pissed when I attempt to do anything else but talk to him.

It's not very convenient to talk on the phone for you. There is nothing wrong with that. Email is definitely more convenient.

Tell the guy you can't use the phone! or tell him there's too much of a time difference and its easier to just use the computer!

I know what you mean. Well, not with online dating (I've never tried that!) but just in general, everyone wants to talk on the phone with me for hours and I just don't enjoy talking on the phone. I dunno why, I just don't.
