Thumbs-down me all you want, but in the end we all know exactly the same about God...nothing.

So not a single person can agree that we cannot 100% truthfully know about God? Where do you self-righteous, arrogant, fundies get off? No one can possibly know the truth, but thanks for proving my suspicions correct.

Take as an illustration a roomful of americans. We hear of a person coming from India. Some people start talking about Native Americans, Some Marco Polo. The India arrives and shows his passport. He is from India. He tells stories about India saying that they are all true. Everyone who meets him can clearly tell he is not American. Some people like the stories. Many do not. He leaves and goes home. You and I walk into the room and talk to people. I choose to believe the people who liked the stories because I find the evidenct the present about this Indian to be convincing. I think "well I can either listen to people and their opinions of India or I believe person who came from India. You hear both sides of the argument. Skipping entirely any checking on "if this person was really an Indian". Coming to the conclusion that since there is no agreement and everone has an opinion that they all have the same vaiue, saying in the end no one can know the answer. You even look at me strange. Why? Because I have the audacity to actual think that someone could actually come to America from India and therefore is an authority on India.
To apply the analogy, Jesus Christ who was by nature God (and therefor the ultimate authority on the universe He created) become human and revealed what reality was all about, He then was crucified and as the final stamp on the right of Jesus to make the claim that He, Jesus Christ of Nazereth, was the only way to get to God. That same God resurrected Jesus Christ bodily from the Grave. To all of us the spiritual world is on the other side of a wall and therefore directly unknowable. Jesus was familiar with both sides of the wall.

P.S. Nect time you meet a college freshman have her and her classmates try that logic on their professor with a doctorate in mathematics.

I really feel sorry that you feel that you can know nothing about God. Even if you do not attend church or go to church, you can get a Holy Bible and read and get information about God. No, we all do not understand 100%, but we do know that from what we are told and what we have read that he Created all that there is and all that will ever be. He created you and you at least know that or you should.
I can tell you that if I did not have the faith or belief in Christ that I do, then I would have been dead a long time ago. I wish for you my friend that you will come to know more and more about him, he is a wonderful person and he is a spirit that we have to believe in and through this belief and through our profession of faith claiming that we are his child, we have the promise of entering that eternal kingdom of Heaven. I know my God and I wish that you could say the same thing. Search your heart and soul and start reading the Bible and you will learn far more than you would ever imagine.

Well of course if you are a tiny baby, who can't even speak, who passes away, then I wouldn't know how God would decide with regards to Heaven or Hell.

However, since you have access to the internet, you are completely capable of discovering the bible if you so wish. If you do not then that counts as not accepting scripture I think and in which case makes your beliefs incorrect.

This is an interesting question, and I guess could become a question of morality, which might then decide how you would fair after death. The fact as that I am sure you are capable of discovering everything you need to know, Im sure there is a church within walking distance of your home, and if you are so interested, then I can only encourage to find out more.

Good luck, and God bless

Dude take it easy. To answer your questions... Nope and.... No.

People are hitting you hard with their answers and you have every right to hit them in the same manner. However, they have something that it seems by the question you lack or do not care for.... FAITH! That is not tangible. Either you have it or you do not.

Yet, you are absolutely right. My beliefs, being different or the same as your do not make them correct or incorrect. They are MY beliefs. I have mine, you have yours and we'll leave hem at that.

You see (read) the unwritten rules of religion, unfortunately, do not apply to everyone in the same manner. They should, but they do not. Furthermore, religion has been going out, engaged and married with politics, ethics, love, friendship, government, to name a few. It has also tried to have a relationship with science without success. Note - Religion always tried to take advantage of science.

Thus, most of our beliefs have been corrupted by man. What we think might be right or wrong. But is what you do that will define were you will live for eternity... if you believe in such a thing.

All this people answering are not wrong. The have something that lets them sleep more comfortable at night. It might be a very comfortable bed or FAITH. As them, you have FAITH. However, it is placed somewhere else. And that is not wrong either.

Sadly, some people need the security that a strict religious code provides, and can't admit to themselves that perhaps everything they've learned is either wrong, made up, or created by men long ago to preserve men's power in the religious hierarchies. If people choose to love God, or try to find God or worship God, I have no beef with that. It's when they're so arrogant that they think everyone who is unlike them is burning in hell...that's when I get angry. Live and let live, folks.

I think everyone has theories and hunches. Nobody can say they know without a shadow of a doubt. This is such a hard thing to talk about.

Since I know nothing of God, does that make your beliefs correct by default? To answer that question... no. I don't think anyone is completely correct. I think that every religion has truth to it and it takes examination of all of them to see the complete picture.

That is what sets God apart from all of us...we are human and are allowed only a glimpse of the whole equation. If we knew all there was to know about GOD then we would have to be HIM. After all, I cannot "know all about you" either. All anyone will ever know about you is what you present on the outside. No one will ever know the truth about what goes on in your mind either. Therefore, we can only believe we know somebody and have faith in what we think or believe is true about them. Does that mean they are not real? Can you tell me what gravity looks like, feels like, taste like, smells like, or feels like? Do you know it truly exists?
Hundreds of years ago, people did not know the truth about the development of an infant in the mother's womb. It took many years to gain the technology to be able to see it and experience it to fully know it.
Imagine how ironic it would be if, just a few years down the road, science were to be responsible for irrefutible proof of GOD's existence.......

I know not so much about our God but I will continue to study and practice our God's life guidance in my daily life.In our holy Al Qur'an spoken that we can not know everything in sciences and especially in a hidden knowledges. We know it only a few.God spoke to us that if we make all trees in this earth as our pens and the sea and fresh water will become its inks we can not write it completely.
.There are so many natural phenomenas and delicacies which have been given by our God to us.We should thank our God.We believe in God thsat God is merciful and will always help us,but we should try to overcome our problems by our selves.God will not change our destiny if we do not try hard to change it.God will bless our working hard in a good intension. We must propose our action plan but we should acknowledge also that God will dispose
it ultimately. We should keep be patient if some unluckies/bad lucks happened to us..God always tests our faith by giving us good and bad lucks.

To admit you know nothing about is good and well but the question is do you want to knowI will not dmit that I know nothing about him because that isn't true I do know some things about himand I have got to know him not only through his word the Bible but also from experiencing him in my life When it comes to knowing God knowing or not knowing makes no views default the only default that does make you is on the side of Satan against God and since if you are not for God's side you are against him so it puts you on Satans side. But not knowing about God does not rule you out from learning about him but you have to want to do that! Otherwise you won't And if you don't want to then you might missout on the benefitswhich you woun't see that way because you didn't want to!Personally I hope that you find it in your heart to look to learning about God and get to know him.Go in Peace! May God bless your efforts.
