If the pH of the soap is higher or lower than that of your skin, then yes. I have had the best experience with Dove soaps. It has the closest pH to your skin and has moisturizers.

Most of the common "big brand" popular soaps do very much strip the skin of it's natural oils because of all the toxic chemicals our government allows the manufacturers of those soaps (and other personal care products) to put into their products.

Here is a small list of the MANY toxic chemicals that are found in about 99.9% of our common popular personal care product brands. Avoid any products that contain any of the following toxic chemicals:

Mineral Oil
Petrolaum
Methyl, Propyl, Buytl and Ethyl Parabens
Imidazolidinyl Urea and Diazolidinyl Urea (AKA: Germall II and Germall 115)
Propylene Glycol
Retinyl Palmitate
Soduim Lauryl/ Laureth Sulfate (SLS or SLES)
Polyethylene Glycol (PEG)
Magnesium Silicate (TALC)
Diethanolamine (DEA), Monoethanolamine (MEA) and Triethanolamine (TEA)
Formaldehyde
Quaternium-15
Isopropyl Alcohol
Artificial/Synthetic Colors (labeled as FD&C or D&C, followed by a color and number)
Artificial/Synthetic Fragrances (labeled as "Fragrance")
PVP/VA Copolymer
Stearalkonium Chloride
Phthalate(s) - Common Names: DEHP, DINP, DBP, DEP, DIP

To avoid stripping your skin of it's natural oils, use only 100% natural (and organic if possible) body care products, as they contain no synthetic chemicals.

I highly recommend Aubrey Organics products (www.aubreyorganics.com) and Terressentials products (www.terressentials.com).

Good luck! :-)
