I think it's a pyschological choice. Either a gay guy just can't see any interst in girls or they're obsessed with guys. Maybe they've been contantly rejected by girls or are so shy that they play gay when they're really not. There could be various reasons. Perhaps they didn't have a good relationship with their dad.

You're a moron. What is the point of asking this question if you are ignorant enough to say "don't say they're born thatway cuz I know for a fact they aint". Really? Where are these facts you speak of?
Most scientists agree that homosexuality has a definite biological basis. IE, they are born with it. If people chose to be homosexual, why would you see gay people commiting suicide because they can't stand the stigma of being gay? Wouldn't they just switch back? Obviously that's not an option!!
It is sad to see such ignorant, uneducated bigots like you still exist.

I love it when straight people tell gay people that they've made a choice to be gay. The only possible way to know is to ask a gay person, and believe me, the answer is that no choice was made to 'become" gay.
I'll give you this -- in some situations, it may SEEM like the person chose to be gay. The problem with that logic, though, is that these situations occur when a person is bisexual -- they're already attracted to both sexes, and decide to date someone of the same sex instead of someone of the opposite. It's not that they decided to go from straight -- it's like deciding that you'd rather date a blonde than a brunette. You're still attracted to brunettes, but you prefer blondes.
And just to reiterate: you can't read people's minds. Don't pretend that you can because it weakens your arguments against gay people.

Surely most gay and lesbian people (possibly not all) are born that way. If it's possible to be born with both male and female sexual organs (hermaphrodite), then surely it's possible to be born with a natural attraction to your own sex instead of the opposite sex.
If it was just a lifestyle choice, why would people have chosen to be gay in the days when it was illegal and they were put into prison for it?
I have a gay friend, who said that he always knew he was gay, but tried to ignore it and to live a straight life at first. He certainly didn't choose to be gay.

Some adults choose, but children often act out memories or attractions formed that they have forgotten or know nothing about. then after the torment or years involved people often accept it. Post traumatic stress is a big issue for many of those that formed an attraction on the same gender or organs or acts when they were small because of an influence from another person then they forget or block out the memories. Children often forget what they do. Do you remember what you did at 3 or 4?

No, you won't go to hell. Remember that whatever sin you commit is no better or worse than the sin of sexual immorality. Jesus wants us to reach out and love those who don't know him.
As far as why someone is gay...that's a hotly debated issue. Some will say that they are born that way but there is no evidence to support this claim.
There seems to be a very strong connection between homosexuality and early childhood experiences...but research on that came to an abrupt halt in the 70's when the APA declared that members could no longer 'treat' homosexuality.
I believe that a homosexual is whole-heatedly sincere when he or she says they did not CHOOSE to be this way but they were not born that way and it is still a sin.
It is my belief that there is a combination of experiences from childhood that lead to sexual identity crisis as adolescents. It is the failure to address the roots of these confused feelings (usually through no fault of the teen) that leads someone to believe they are homosexual.

ok- this is a good one!!! First of all-people dont "become" gay/lesbian. My personal opinion is that it has alot to do with genetics and social upbringing. A person doesnt just wake up and say "I think I'll be gay from now on"! If you're so christian--why are YOU judging????? And--in response to "...Gay people i can stand..."--I can only stand to put up with ignorant people like you long enough to put in my 2cents!!! Grow up

I have always wondered about that. Me and my coworkers even reserached into this and am still confused about it. I thibk it has a lot to do with the way they were brought up. Also the kind of people they had contact with. Everything from the time you were born until the time you are an adult influences you, and i Think it has something to do with that. It also could be the experiences that they had in life.

You are not a tabula rasa when you are born. So many things have already affected you in the womb that helps to shape your personality. Some say it's a chemical imbalance or a bad experiance. I say it's just there. I have no problem with homosexual people-- they're exactly like everyone else. If you prick them, they bleed. If you tickle them, they laugh. If you poison them, they die. If you wrong them, they seek revenge.
And as for "going to hell," your god says you'll go to hell if you judge people. So suck it up and treat everyone equally.

I agree with the environmental and social and cognitive factors relating to causes of homosexuality. I do not believe the biological evidence is creditable.
1)"There are numerous theories about the origins of a person's sexual orientation; most scientists today agree that sexual orientation is most likely the result of a complex interaction of environmental, cognitive and biological factors. In most people, sexual orientation is shaped at an early age. There is also considerable recent evidence to suggest that biology, including genetic or inborn hormonal factors, play a significant role in a person's sexuality. In summary, it is important to recognize that there are probably many reasons for a person's sexual orientation and the reasons may be different for different people."
