why do we need any guidance as to what is good and evil? Why are we still arguing about it? Shouldn't we all be imbued naturally with that knowledge? Just wondering.

Good and evil/bad are subjective terms. What is good to one may be bad to the other. Before they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, everything was either 'right' or 'wrong.' It was much clearer to see objectively. Now that this so called 'knowledge of good and evil' has entered man's mind, everything has become subjective and confusing. Therefore people continue to argue over it. Hope this clarifies things a bit better.

Adam and Eve were like babies and didn't know evil and had to talk to satan to find out. All babies have to learn about about good and evil from someone, what's the point of the question? The situation wasn't merely about a tree, it's who is in the tree.

we do have the knowledge of good and evil. Don't you know when something is good and when something is evil? Some people love evil more and try to make evil into what they call good. Like abortion, same sex marriage, divorce, pornography and so much more.

God didn't want us to know evil. If you have children, wouldn't you want to guard and shelter their innocent minds to all the evil in this world? All the sick and perverted things that this world does? That is what the knowledge of good and evil is.

Because humans have the tendancy to call good evil and evil good.

Look at the answers you've received to your question. Non-religious folks reject "absolute truth." Religious folks recognize their actions are guided by a moral compass.

We all have that knowledge. When you're about to do something you get that little voice that says something like "hope nobody finds out" or "hope I don't get caught". Problem is the penalty is so light for most as they grow up it becomes habit not to listen to that voice anymore.

Look around the world. Is everyone living in harmony and peace? If not, then I'd say the debate over "right and wrong" isn't quite over yet...

well we are not adam and eve. Just because your parents were smart does not mean you are smart. I know plenty of smart people that thier parents cannot read, and I know many stupid people that their parents are highly educated.
