at home, register office, you, him, 2 witnesses and then invite everybody to a party a week later and tell them you got hitched, it's a lot cheaper, you get exactly what you want, no interference from parents and all the money you save on all them aunts an uncles you never see will pay for the most fantastic honeymoon ever!!! Now I am out of breath !!

Hi, im getting married at home and i never really thought about getting married abroad, as i want to get married where i was born and to be proud of where i come from, plus nearly everyone of my family has been married in the area i live in. I suppose if you have moved away from where you were born then getting married abroad would be lovely, But at the end of the day its your wedding and its up to you, if you want to get married abroad go ahead and do it, it will do as your honey moon too, plus if will be one of the best holidays you will have.

Complete depends on you but you have to understand that if you get married abroad you are suppose to help pay for some of your guest traveling cost (yes, I know a lot of people skip this but the etiquette is your suppose to pay for the hotel, guest pay for the flight). And if you want a lot friends and family there- they may not be able to afford the trip or take the time off.
If it's just the two of you- then I would say, abroad is a wonderful idea!

Guess it depends if your immediate family can afford to go with you abroad, maybe just both sets of parents along with yourselves for a wedding abroad, then have a nice big do when you get home for everyone else to join you in your celebration, you get the best of both worlds marrying abroad, wedding and honeymoon, but alas no best mates and family unless they can afford to join you.

I think you should get married wherever you want. If you want your family there, get married at home, if you want some wild and romantic adventure, get married abroad. You want to remember this as the best day of your entire life, do whatever makes you happy.

Abroad - it's cheaper, you get your honeymoon at the same time, you can choose who you want at the wedding (and they have to pay for themselves!) and it is a more relaxed atmosphere.
I know because I got married in the UK first time around and then abroad the second (and last) time!

Weigh your options -- sometimes abroad weddings can cost less than an at home wedding.

Most people get married close to the home of the bride's parents. I know that my husband and I married close to my family and his. His brother and his wife were living in California when they decided to get married and their wedding was in VA close to her family. My cousin and her husband got married in OH close to her family (his family was from Cincinnati area while hers was closer to Cleveland). So you need to decide if you want a large wedding where you have a lot of people to celebrate with or a smaller wedding where only those who can afford to travel to your wedding site would be able to attend. Totally your choice.
