If a Mormon truly believes what he/she is doing is right, won't God see the sincere love they have for Him and let them into heaven? The Jehovah's witnesses suffer alot from society to do what they think God wants them to do. Do you think God is so small and petty to look these good people, who love Him so sincerely and serve Him in what they think to be right , in the eye and say "you can't come in, you didn't follow the rules"? Is it really so complicated? Or do you think God looks to our hearts, sees the sincerity and understands how one loves Him is all that matters.

I only mention Mormons and Jehovah's witnesses because they are amont the most persecuted of Christian denominations. I am not one of these and I do not want to persecute them in any way.

Kathie,

May you be blessed, in that God, has given you Wisdom. Religion, means nothing to our Father. It is a creation of men, and it has been a thorn in God's side from the beginning. When Jesus walked the earth, the only group of people He singled out for His scathing verbal attacks, were the religious. He said that they do not enter into the Father's Kingdom, and they prevent others from doing so. I will tell you what is "Enough". When we come to God as humble children, and invite Him into our hearts, He sends His Spirit into us, and bonds with us. We become new creatures, part mortal, part Immortal. The old values of materialism and fear, fall away. Love and Wisdom, become the foundation of all our choices. We have embarked on the Path of Eternity, and we will never be the same again. Jesus said, that unless we experience this Spiritual Rebirth, we shall not enter the Kingdom of God. You can tell if a person has received God's Spirit into their hearts, by the fruit of their lives. If they are loving of all mankind, patient, generous, and respectful to all, then you are looking at a Child of God. If they sneer at those of other faiths, socialize only with other church members, and are not filled with Love, you are looking at a religious person. Religion is an abomination to God. If you doubt this, read the first chapter of Isaiah. The scriptures say true religion, is showing mercy to widows and orphans, and relieving their suffering. Without the Spirit of God, guiding and leading your life, you cannot love God, because you cannot know Him.

It's possible to be sincere, and still be sincerly wrong. The Bible is our guidebook, and we should do as it says. Mormons think the bible has been changed and interpreted so many times that it has errors. It does not contain any errors that could cause you to be lost. The book of Mormon should not be your guidebook. It was not written by Joseph Smith, but he took credit for it.Do you know how Joseph, and his brother died? You should check that out. There are good people in the Mormon church. My next door neighbor is one,and he is very nice. But, doing what you feel is right will not cut it wuth God. You have to do what he says is right. Jesus said : If you love me keep my commandments. I have heard many people say we aren't bound by them anymore. I assure you we are. Revelation mentions them talking about the commandments. God speaking of them says : here are those who kept my commandments, and had the testimony of Jesus .So, yes you do have to follow the rules. Those people who say they follow the New testament, and not the old are not aware that it's the same God in both. Jesus was the one that gave Moses the ten Commandments on the mountain. Jesus was the creator of all things that are good. You can't just take the one part without the other.

From a Christian perspective...

There are many people from every religion who think they are doing what is right.

Does that mean every religion is right? Can that be possible? Logically not all religions can be right at the same time. Either Jesus is the Messiah or he isn't the Messiah, but he can't be both.

If you believe you can get into heaven by doing right, then is the Bible wrong?

The Bible says it is by grace we are saved, through faith. It is a gift of God, not by works so that no man can boast. (Eph 2:8-9)

I don't think God is small and petty at all. His ways are above our ways, and His thoughts are above our thoughts.

It is us...who are small and petty, full of pride and rebellion. God made the way really simple and clear, and not complicated...one way...

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

2 John 1:6
And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands.

Jesus endured the cross for us and what's really sad is that on judgement day, there will be people pointing their finger in God's face telling Him that He hasn't done enough, and that He is small and petty, narrow-minded, intolerant, and didn't provide enough ways into heaven.

I shudder at the thought.

Sincerity is not what attains salvation. You can sincerely believe you are a good person, but the bible says no one is good. You can sincerely believe that your "good works" will get you into heaven, but the bible says, no one is saved by works.

God has given us the way to salvation, and that is through His son. Since He has stated there is no one good, and that all are sinners, then comes the problem of how to get rid of the sin, since sin cannot enter heaven. That is where Jesus comes in. He paid the price on Calvary for our sins, that whoever believes in Him is forgiven, and they receive the righteousness of God.

I understand the question of, why isn't living a "good" life enough for God. My best answer is...because no one is sinless. Even one sin is enough to keep a person from God's presence. And if we are honest, we know we've sinned a whole lot more than just once.

The second commandment says. Do not worship any any God but Me. and the third states Do not make idols of any kind and bow to them. the Mormons have there own beliefs and do not worship the God of the bible, making a doctrine to suit there own life style. It also states quite clearly in the bible that to enter heaven you must be born again( john 3;3 Jesus said," I assure you, unless you are born again, you can never see the kingdom of God" it is a simple as that

I would think the worst religion, and one that would be against God, would be that religion that would tell their followers not to read the bible. They teach their followers that only special people can really understand the bible.
This traps their followers into believing anything they want to teach them. Anyone to will study and read the new testament will find out the truth for themselves with no help from outsiders.

The bible says that salvation is by grace and not by works lest anyone should boast. There is nothing that we can do to get into heaven. We must have faith in the right God. Jesus said those who worship God must worship him in spirit and in truth. Any other way is in vain. If you don't believe in the true God that is revealed in the bible than your God is a false God, and you have no assurance of salvation.

This is what I think, as to your question. Yes! I think God looks In each of our hearts and that we love him. To me if doesn't matter what others choose to believe because it's there belief. I'm not the one to judge, it is God. I also think that God works different for each individual person, he has different plans for each person cause we are all unique in our own ways. every one has the right to feel as they do. I also believe God knocks on the door in our hearts and it is up to us to let him in, no matter what belief you have. it is whats in your heart, what works for one person is different for some one else.
WE are all Gods children, and he loves all of us, it is unconditional love. I hope I was able to answer your question? This is just how I see it works. I love my Lord, Rainbow
