You have some rights. A good lawyer might be able to make it go away. But only if the cops screwed up. Otherwise prepare to be railroaded. It is going to be an expensive nightmare. Get as much cash together as you can and contact a lawyer immediately. You are probably going to lose your license so make transportation arrangements to get back and forth to work. Brace your self. Now that Big brother has a hard on for you he is going to seriously invade your privacy and your wallet.

I had a relative almost die because she was driving boozed up. Her fiance did die. She spent years in prison. This bad choice weighed very heavily upon her for near a decade and haunts her still. Be grateful that you didn't hurt anyone. Give up the sauce on nights that you are driving.

well it depends if you have alot of money you could get alot of things worked out and charges dropped for say community serviice. The truth is if you dont you will be asigned a public deffender and then it will take about a year to go through the courts this will be on your record for 6 years in a way because one year to be tried and then 5 years off your record.. Many jobs wont hire you as well. You will have to pay a high fee or penalty and your most likely to get probabation where you piss in cup once a month not to mention you will also have to go through 2 AA's a week one individual councling and 1 group counciling session which realy gets annoying

I just got one in march. you need a lawyer especially if you blew, also it is really expensive it was my first time, my lawyer was cheap because he was a friend of my boyfriend. but i had to pay to get my car out of the impound ,also court cost was like 900 dollars ,plus before you go to court you have to go this evaluation class ( i went downtown Chicago ) but they have different places , your lawyer will tell you to get this done it cost 250.00 . plus the judge will tell you to take classes which cost .if your put on probation which most likely you will be you have to pay 50 bucks a month to see your probation officer ,plus to get your license back is like another 250.00 so it gets very expensive - I have not been drinking since i got my DUI. I don't understand people that get more than 1, not only cause of the money but i was in tears the day after i got arrested because you start to think what could have happened ,you could have hurt someone or yourself and i have 3 boys i love that i would not want to put them thru that .so i really thank god that i did get pulled over i really learn my lesson i wish other people would too .good luck with your case and i pray you learned your lesson....

Get ready to pay! Even if you are not convicted, it will cost you anywhere from $8,000 to $10,000 just to defend yourself against the accusation. Also, you could try to challenge certain things, like, when was the last time the officer was certified to use a breathalyser. Some states require yearly recertification.

First, sober up. Second, stop drinking and driving - you might kill someone. Third, lawyer up - best way to get least penalty. Will cost, but teach you a lesson. Sorry, the truth hurts.
