Arrange play dates with other children in their age group. I was a stay at home mom, but I put my son in a day care for 2 hours a day, 3 times a week. It gave me some down time and helped him to interact with other children. To this day, he is now 10, he is a social butterfly. I was unable to do that with my daughter due to finances, and at the age of 8, she is very shy and has difficulty making friends.

Why are so many people obsesed with teaching babies skills that will come normally as the children develop. Just the daily interaction between two siblings will help them learn social skills. At 14 months, they tend to be more clingy and want to be with mom. They are too young to intereact with other children, play next to others maybe, but sharing and actual play together comes later. Just let nature take it's course and they will be just fine.

Perhaps enroll in a Mommy and Me class or Gymboree. Social skill can only be learned from being in social situations. Since you are starting early I'm sure everything will work out fine for you. It's good to hear that your in tune to the importance of your childrens behavior and dedicated to making a difference in their life.

I think playdates, library programs for that age, some churches have groups for toddlers, and at home having them share with you and the other twin. Treat them as their own person not just as a twin...and when they are old enough I would put them in a preschool program and in seperate classes. I teach preschoolers and for twins it is important for them to be their own person not just twins.
