Why are we so concerned about what someone who may or may not have existed did? And yes, he did, to pharoah.

The best part about that, as an after thought, is that God told him to do it.

I love the fact that most didn't even answer the question. I guess it goes back to people not reading the details again. By the way, who said I was against Christianity?

The relevant stories are recalled in Genesis chapters 12, 20, and 26, and no mention is made of Abraham "prostituting" Sarah. When Abraham says "you are my sister" - while his deceit may not be fully defensible, his statement was at least a half-truth; Sarah was indeed his relative, called "a sister" in Hebrew. Moreover, the ancient traditions on which stories are based, probably come from the Hurrian custom of wife-sister marriage. Among the Hurrians, with whom Abraham's clan lived in close contact at Haran, a man could adopt his wife as his sister and thus give her higher status.

To your actual question in the details - Abraham is considered by at least three different religions to be our "Father in Faith". It is important to understand his life and the life of many others in the Bible. In this way, we can fully realize the history and tradition of our faith.

I would pose the following to you: Should we be concerned with the study of US History, World History or the like?

If you are smart keep in the safe side, then what is your point from such a silly question, why are you concerned in the first place. In my opinion Abraham PBUH is much more important in the eyes of the true God "Allah swt" more than the 6 billion humans altogether living on earth today and you will come to know this only when it is too late for you to correct yourself.

Not true. Why are you against Christianity? Are you against any other religions as well?

It amazes me to see how powerful an influence Chrisitanity has on the world!

So much influence that it urges questioning that can not be shunned and so powerful that we MUST discuss it more than any other religion. I think it is awesome!

The word of God is impacting the world more than any other religion right now! GLORY TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST FOR ALL ETERNITY!

Yep, it did happen. Abraham told the men his wife was his sister so that they wouldn't kill him to have her. He was fearful. He did not trust in God at that moment. It was his error. The Bible does not sugar-coat the truth. You see the ugliness of sin in Abraham, King David, etc. Their errors are recorded for our benefit and learning. There was/is only one without blemish, His name is Jesus Christ.

Did God really tell him to do it, or did Abraham not trust in God to protect him.

Why would Abraham trust in God to kill his own son, but not trust God in Egypt?

Abraham's covenant does not seem so secure.

Actually, what happened was, he kept his mouth shut and claimed she was his sister, not his wife. That way people wouldn't kill him and take her from him.

And supposedly each time God intervened before anything happened.

You sound like someone who I wouldn't waste my time on. You don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Not only did Abram prostitute Sarai, their little boy, Isaac did the same thing with his wife, Rebekah.

Odd how bible thumpers overlook that when they are using the bible as a guide to good living.

Yes, Abram most certainly did:

The bible is very clear on the issue and only the most tortured (illogical, unsupported) interpretaton can make it come out otherwise.
