Don't worry about it. The thing you need to ask yourself is, when you talk to her or ask her to do something, does she understand what you say to her?
My son didn't even say his first word until he was 2 years old. However, he took his first step at 9 months. He was way ahead on the physical things, but never talked. He understood everything people said to him and could even follow two or three step instructions, so we knew he knew what we were saying. It used to make my worry like crazy that he didn't talk!
Now he is almost 9 and I don't think he has stopped talking for nearly seven years...LOL
Have her hearing checked and have her mouth checked (make sure she isn't tongue-tied) and if that is okay, don't worry about it. She'll talk when she is ready.

My two year old, now 2 3/4 year old step grandson was much the same way. Then at about two and a half his talking just took off and the problem went a way. Yep, it happened that fast. Sure, there are times I still can't understand him, but the improvement over that half year was remarkable. Give your grand daughter a little more time. Start becoming concerned as she starts pressing three.
Good Luck

My oldest Son at the age of 2 which talked early by the way... suddenly stopped talking. I took him to the Dr. and found he had hearing problems that was corrected (thank God) with tubes in his ears to drain the build up of fluid. He has a crooked nose canal which causes drainage into his ears. He hasn't had problems since tubes were inserted and removed. I don't know how this took care of the nose canal and drainage, but it did. I also had a niece that had the same problem as my son. The tubes worked for her too. To make a long story short, have the parents take your grand-daughter to her pediatrician for a check up and see what the Dr. advices.

it is normal, but try talking a lot around her. Also, make sure she tries to socialize a lot, that increases speech by about 20%. Also the normal age a child begins to speak right is about 3-4, it is completely normal. Only start worrying if she doesn't progress in speech at the age of 4.

Does your grandson work together with your grand-daughter? hassle-free issues like letting him help exchange her nappy, by utilising this i advise omit the nappies, toddler wipes etc..? you may handle them the two a similar yet your grandson would sense somewhat pushed out because of the fact there is somebody knew who have been given somewhat greater interest whilst your grand-daughter replaced into born.. What approximately in line with possibility(2-three times each and every week)having an hours play time on your grandson without your grand-daughter there and whilst the hours up take your grandson to the place your grand-daughter is and attempt to inspire him to play little video games together with her whether it somewhat is in hassle-free terms attempting to make her smile or chuckle.. i'm hoping in line with possibility a number of this would help

she is only two . . her speech will improve as she gets older . . my daughter is a week shy of two and she isn't very clear either . . every child develops differently . . if people are doing the talking for her, that is not helping either

She's two. Most two year olds barely talk anyway. So don't worry. It's normal
