If your aunt is a vet talk to her. Tell her you want to go look at shelter dogs and ask if she'll go with you. If you don't find the dog you want go back in two weeks. Eventually you'll find the right dog for you. The people at the shelter can help you find the right puppy for you. Happy puppy hunting!!!!

I just got a Yorkshire Terrier a month ago. She is wonderful and SO SMART. She already sits, stands, shakes, and fetches very well at 3 months old. Yorkies have a lot of energy and love to play, so the big yard will be great. Mine really loves chew toys and she will chew your fingers if she isn't corrected. They usually do okay with kids, especially if they are raised around them, just remember small kids can be too rough on puppies. Yorkies shed very little compared to other breeds. Best of all, they are BEAUTIFUL. Their hair does grow really long, so they do require frequent grooming. They are also pretty expensive. BTW- a shar-pei/pitbull mix could be a really aggressive dog and could easily hurt a small dog. Hopefully, your parents plan on getting a puppy so it will grow up with yours. That way the new dog will be less likely to want to hurt your dog.

Please consider getting a puppy at the local animal shelter. Mixed breed dogs have the best personalities, and less inherent chance for problems that are specific to a pure breed.
Even if you decide on a pure breed - check with the shelter. Ours has purebred dogs all the time, and they will call you if they know what breed you're looking for.
Shelter dogs have been "thrown away" for a myriad of reasons, no fault of their own, and the deserve a chance.
I'm pretty much against purebreds because of the horrible puppy mill industry, and the horrific conditions they keep their "breeders" in. I'm sure your aunt can tell you about them.
Another source of pure bred dogs, including puppies, is a rescue group specific to the breed. You can find one closest to you if you check Petfinder.org.
Good luck with your puppy. And don't forget to spay/neuter them.

My aunt has 2 miniature poodles not toy, miniature they are a little bigger than toy but still small and they don't shed and they are great active little dogs. The only thing with them is that they need professional grooming evey 6-8 weeks.

Hi,I think u should go for mid sized dog, bcos ur family age group varies from 9-40yrs i think golden retiver/dalmatien/labrador will be good choices as they are easy to mantain and train ,good friendly nature with kids and aged also, not aggresive, and go for puppy of 4-6 weeks old as it grows in age the bond of love also grows and hence becomes obedient also.

A Perro DE Agua Espanol. They are medium. Either have curly or corded hair are very intelligent and loyal. Like exercise. I go to school for hours too and I might get 1. They are expensive though. Good luck.

Take a look at the Cairn Terrier. Small, doesn't shed alot, very hardy, and very playful. My mother-in-law has one, and she loves it. Toto from the Wizard of Oz was a Cairn. The dog is intelligent and loving, and weighs about 15 pounds.

you should definately get a puggle - a pug mixed w/ a beagle. all the breathing problems or the pug are relieved in this mix and so are the annoying howls of the beagle. the puggle is small and great for all ages to enjoy. It is one of the cutest dogs ever and is simple to take care of and doesn't shed either. I would defiantely recommend that you consider getting a puggle. :)

i could be what i'm now, a solid ol' American blended breed. i could be intense, have a solid artwork ethic, and decide directly to stay in a solid working domicile. If I have been saved as in hassle-free terms a puppy in a fenced backyard, i could be digging super holes and barking because of the shear boredom of all of it. i could decide directly to be taken places, to learn new issues, and to work out human beings. i could be friendly yet reserved and not aggressive. i could be very unswerving to my loving proprietor and to the my kin. My look could be regularly occurring. No extremes, in line with possibility a medium or double coat. much like a circulate between a spaniel and a shepherd. coloration black in line with possibility brown with a sprint white trim. i could be captivating to verify and superb to touch. i could problaby weight 50-60#.
