Is a hamburger a "sandwich"?

It should never be called a sandwich. If it were ever called a sandwich, it would have to be called a "ground beef sandwich" (which sounds dumb) and not a "hamburger sandwich." This is because the product obviously has no ham in it (and sandwiches are normally described with their major meat ingredient if they don't have their own unique name--in this case, ground beef) and also is named as such since Americans tied the hamburger's origins to German immigrants from Hamburg, Germany.

Therefore, I would just call it an f'ing stacked ground beef sandwich if you MUST call it a sandwich.

Hamburger is ground beef. It becomes a type of sandwich when you make it into patties and grill it or cook on the stove and put in a bun (usually). People put stuff in the hamburger (or not) depending on their tastes, and, then they dress it up by what they put on their hamburger sandwich - lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, relish, catsup, mustard, mayonnaise, etc. Some people feel that you ruin the hamburger if you put all the extras on. The hamburger tastes better if it is fresh, not handled too much and not over cooked.

Yes. Hamburger is a sandwich made with a patty of ground meat usually in a roll or bun. Because a sandwich is defined as two or more slices of bread with a filling such as meat or cheese placed between them.
