When I close one drawing and open another, the one I'm trying to open will freeze. Sometimes it won't open at all, sometimes it'll half open. The only way to get out of it is to ctrl-alt-delete, end the task, and restart the computer. There are days when I have no problems opening drawings, days where it will freeze up once and will be fine when I restart the computer, and days where the drawings will keep freezing 5 or more times a day.

AutoCAD is a memory hungry application. You might want to increase your RAM to 1GB.

There are two ways by which you can prevent it.
First, since AutoCAD 2006 is designing software, you will nedd to buy a good Graphics Card with atleast 512 MB graphics RAM.

Second, you will need to upgrade your computer's memory to atleast 1 GB GB of system RAM.

If you follow the two steps i am sure that your AutoCAD 2006 will run smoothly without any problem.

It sounds like memory, but could be a glitch in the software.
When using it, you might exit all the background programs running in your task bar. They eat up more memory than one realizes.

You're not on line so even exit your security. Once you exit the program, restart and those programs in the task bar will reload.

I advise digital mail it to me or each and every physique with '08 so as that they might shop as '08 and zip it back to you. in all probability on Monday. Trueview acquire is amazingly useful... yet we had a sprint situation installation it in the commencing up... and it somewhat is the biggest ingredient i've got ever downloaded... it somewhat is extensive!... and it says you may convert to 2007 or decrease. once you're desirous to alter stuff from '08 TO '04 it somewhat is solid for that.
