the egg my niece answered this too but she didn't say why god created the hen and it was the hen to lay the egg.but if you are talking about the dictionary egg would come before hen

Egg. Eggs are just...eggs. Which are the beginning stages of life. So an egg must have been created after years fo evolution, then something sat on it to warm it, it hatched, and then TA DA a chicken.
You see, a fullly-grown chicken couldn't have appeared out of nowhere. But eggs could have evolved and then been hatched.

if you are a creationist then the chicken came first because God placed it there to lay eggs.... if you are an Evolutionist then the egg came first evolving from some sort of weird bird or dinosaur...
