I've noticed that Muslims tend to write the longest answers on YA. And by long, I mean, too f&%king long! Is there something in the Koran that says "Thou shalt write answers that are so long, even Job would fall asleep before reading them... Inshallah.."

Seriously, do ya'll really think people are going to read your 10,000 word cut and paste thesis, posted to answer, "Y R Joos so stinky?"

Boy was I tempted to act stupid on this one! But I controlled myself.

I've seen this tendency in both Muslims and a few "creationists" who think that if they throw umpteen-thousand names and quotes it will somehow overcome any opposition. It seems to be like a buckshot approach. You shoot a million pellets and hope one or two will hit the mark.

The funny part is it has just the opposite effect. As soon as you see the sheer bulk of it, your eyes glaze over. They might as well be firing blanks.

No, because I have a tendency to give long answers myself. I don't usually have the patience to read the thing, so how can I say whether it is a good answer or a bad one? BTW, I never bother to read long answers that are copy/pasted from scriptures, either the Bible or the Koran. I know they can be used to support most anything.

Maybe when a question is asked that is of serious matter needing a serious and genuine answer it is necessary to write as much as possible to properly answer the question. Far to often I see the opposite, people trying to answer questions with short answers and the only thing it does is confuse people, give a wrong impression regarding the true answer or raise more questions...just seems some questions require an as complete answer as possible to fully answer it in such a manner that people will understand and comprehend it, even if they don't agree with it.

Because they normally go to an anti-Christian site and copy the long winded answers there and post them all over the net.

Copy one of the long answers and paste it in your search, most likely the search will take you to one of their anti-Christian sites. They really should give the author credit.

They also tend to make the same claims about Christians over and over, even when it has been refuted.

Peace!

Allah would probably enjoy reading long-winded answers as a break from reassembling all the terrorists that arrive in paradise in bits n pieces.

I dont think gods actually talk but express themselves in more sublime ways. However, human beings feel compelled to put their interpretation of god's words into speech and writing; and humans can be very long-winded.

Its go to be cultural. I can never get through them or figure out the point. The Rocky Horror Picture Show has more cohesiveness.

I must admit that I have the attention span of a circus monkey on acid. Maybe my mother didn't breast feed me enough.

Even Allah would be chiming in saying, " WTF! "

Ahoy Captain Atheism, yer astute observation is correct, sir. They do seem to have lengthy answers, but so do the dreaded fundies, yarr. Let's make-em all walk the plank, savvy?

Usually because Muslim nature teaches people to be intelligent and educated, instead of being ignorant like the other two main singular God religions. Muslims are usually really good at math and science.

So they know how to respond. If they do have cut-and-paste it must be stubborness, since everyone should know that if you say somethign once, and no one understood it, saying it twice won't make it any better.
