Ok, I'm pretty sure that she can't do this. As long as the cats are not neglected or any thing like that, they are your cats! If they have been destroying her stuff and she asked you to do some thing about it and you haven't, then I think she could call the animal control and they would come and get them. But she can't just take your cats because she doesn't like cats. Call the police department ( not 911) and report her, let them know that she is related to the park ranger or whatever, and that she has already taken two and has threatened to take the others

OK first thing I would be calling the cops. Unless they have a permit or autherisiation from the police or city council they are not aloud on your property. I would keep your cats inside for as long as it takes to resolve this. It may be hard but I know about this. Where abouts do you live? I live in Australia qld and I have a permit for over 2 cats. If you love your cats do everything you can to save em. As soon as the people come over call the cops and shut the door.

Hi,

I live in Las Vegas, NV, but I believe the laws concerning pets are pretty general across the country. You are allowed to have 3 pets, whether it be cats, dogs or cats and dogs. Dogs must be leashed or under voice control which is considered a "leash" of sorts. They also say cats must be on leashes or in your your yard at all times. I don't know if there are any laws against luring your cats into the neighbors yard for trapping, but it sure is horrible. However, the best thing for you to do is to keep your cats inside at all times. They will be much healthier, they won't be exposed to disease that other cats might carry, or dogs that might try to hurt them, or cars and definitely neighbors who don't like cats can't catch them.

I volunteer for a cat rescue organization and we won't adopt to anyone who lets their cats outside because of all the problems that occur. Teach your cats to walk on a leash and let them go to the mailbox with you. Your neighbor has no right to come into your yard without your permission. The safest thing for your cats is to keep them at home.

Good luck. from ktomichi

First of all don't let them go outside any more that way she can't get them. Is the park manager the only one around? You could talk with the police and find out what to do. Also think about why she takes your cats are they always on her property? In some states if the cat even wanders on some one elses property they have every right to do what they want to them. I've even heard of a lady shooting them. Find out what your law states. The police will help you figure out if she is in violation of the law.

Please keep your cats inside so they are safe.

Good luck please post what happens

First of all I don't know where you live but here in Chicago there are tons of cats with no homes. You can call animal control all you want and they will never come get them all. I love cats. I have 2 of them and they are indoor as well as outdoor kitties. They come home every night though and I make sure they have a collar and tags on them! This way they are safe and no one can harm them seeing as they are up to date on shots and truly belong to someone. Maybe if you don't have collars for them you can get some. They aren't very much $. Good luck :)

Write her a certified letter. Send it to herself, the park manager, and your local police department. If it doesn't stop her, it will make her think twice! Make sure you address the letter to all 3 entities. That way she knows other people are aware of the problem.

You can also make one of those signs like the ones that say "Deaf Children" and put it at the top of the neighborhood. Just make the sign say "Cat Theif on the Property"

ugh... call the police when you know she is coming? DUH!!!! what a heartless B*TCH though!!!!!! you're obviously a caring and responsible cat owner. but, after this is all said and done I would keep all the cats inside if I were you!!!! She has absolutly no right!!!! sorry if I was mean to you earlier. do you know where she takes them? are they causing
some mischief in your neighborhood??

addition:
KEEP THEM INSIDE AT ALL TIMES!!!! besides, they live longer healthier lives that way!!! I can clearly tell that all your cats are being well takin care of!! I think that what your doing with your dad shows great compassion, cats do help people. especially if they're very ill or something. you have all your cats for a very good and loving purpose!!! your hearts in the right spot!!!! Good Luck!!! HIH!!

I once had a man trapping my cats across the street. He swore they were breaking into his garage and peeing inside his pickup. Stray cats maybe, but not mine. They were very well taken care of and fed. They seldom wandered across the street.

I had all these cats spayed and neutered. You know how much that costs. One night my daughter and I were outside and he didn't see us.

He was calling for any cats, saying "here kitty kitty kitty, then putting tuna fish in the cage and capturing them. I went to the police and they told me that he had every right to do what he wanted when they were on his property. It didn't matter to them that he was coaxing them to come over to his property.

The next night, my 16 year old found her favorite cat missing. She went across the street and found him in the cat cage. She took the cage and let our baby out.

We didn't return the cage. Then he kept threatening us if we didn't return the cage he was going to sue us.

My thoughts were, you can take my cats, that are like babies to the whole family and kill them, but if we take your cage you're gonna sue us?

He never got his cage back. I moved in the next few months afterward. By the way, he didn't take them to the Humane Society. Supposedly he dumped them at the river. Knowing him, he threw them in the river to drown.

He's a classic case of a man that just hated cats. I'd known him for many many years and knew that he didn't like cats. I guess we just got too many on the block for his liking. I do not believe they were coming on his property either. If you have to holler for them instead of just leave food out, you know he's just being a total jerk.

I know what you'r going through and there's nothing you can do but keep your cats in the house.

For right now take them and hide them, if you have a friend that will help you. And then contact PETA I would think they would have a web site. They should be able to tell you what rights you have and maybe they will assist you. I was a wild live rehabiltater for years and we worked with the humane society to take in cats which gave us rights to have more them three cats, which is usually the city ordinance. But get them out of reach of them right now.

If when you moved into the park and they did not have you sign something telling you that you can not have cats then they cannot take your cats. Call the police and tell them she is stealing cats. She cant do that. Stand up for your rights!!!!! Tell that b^tch whos boss, YOU!!! Good luck and dont stop fighting for whats yours.
