All of the bible was written in the time when Jesus was alive and could verify what was written. It was written by his disciples and faithful followers that walked in his light. The book of Mormon was DISCOVERED by someone AFTER Jesus was crucified. Jesus could not have verified that that was a part of his gospil. Also, why do Mormons believe Jesus was not the son of God when they supposedly believe the Bible and that is what the Bible CLEARLY states??

Latter-day Saints believe that Jesus is truly the Only Begotten Son of God. We consider Joseph Smith to be a Prophet of God and Apostle of Jesus Christ similar to those men mentioned in the Bible like Moses, Samuel, Isaiah, Peter, Paul, and John. Latter-day Saints do not worship Joseph Smith or consider him to be equal to Christ. He is simply a servant of Christ, called to the holy ministry by Jesus himself, despite his mortal imperfections.

It is their leader like the Pope is for the Catholics. The new testamant was not written in while Jesus was alive and before He died or how could they have written about His death and resurrection and things that happened years after he had gone back to Heaven? Better read your history books a bit better as well as the bible. The book of mormon was written long after the bible was written but was said to be found by the leaders of the Mormon Church, aka, Joseph Smith, so that is where the beliefs came from. Just as some do not believe Jesus ever existed or that God exists, if they had followers and started a church, they could be the ones people look up to today and even claim things that are not true as many others have.

You may want to research the Mormons a bit more. Mormons don't worship Joseph Smith. They worship Jesus Christ and believe that Jesus is the only begotten son of God.

(BTW, most of the Bible was NOT written when Jesus was alive on the earth. In fact, I don't think any of it was. So your reliance upon His verification of the writings as the basis of your faith in the Bible may need to be re-looked at also.)

You are wrong in several ways.
Mormons do NOT worship Joseph Smith.
The Bible was NOT written when Jesus was alive on the earth. The books of the Old Testament were written hundreds of years before Jesus was born and the books of the New Testament were written decades after his crucifiction (some as late as 96AD), but NONE were actually written while Jesus was still alive on earth.
Mormons DO believe that Jesus Christ IS the Son of God.
The Book Of Mormon is an account of people living in the Americas from about 600BC to approximately 400AD, and parts of it were written while Jesus was alive on earth. Mormons do not claim that the book was just "discovered," but that it was revealed by an angel to Joseph Smith who was given the task of translating it into English by the gift and power of God and fulfilling a prophecy of Isaiah.
In short, Mormons claim that the Book of Mormon was revealed to mankind by revelation of God through a prophet (Joseph Smith) who wrote down in English the word of the Lord, much the same as Moses did when he wrote down Genesis giving an account of mankind before his time from Adam and Eve, including accounts of previous prophets such as Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Jacob and others.

Paul wasn't even a Christian before Christ died. So over 1/2 the books in the New Testament were written after his death.

We do not worship Joseph Smith. He was a prophet who spoke with God and Jesus Christ.

We do believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Where did you get the idea that Mormons don't believe that Jesus is the Son of God? That's completely fallacious.
As far as worshiping Joseph Smith, we worship him just as much as Christians worship Moses, i.e. we don't. We respect and revere prophets. We believe that Joseph Smith did great things, but we would never worship him.
Have you read the Book of Mormon? 3 Nephi talks about Jesus talking to the people here and it specifically mentions that he goes over their scriptures and makes sure that they are in harmony with his teachings. that's something that the Bible never mentions.
Sorry, but in answer to all your questions, the best answer is that we don't worship Joseph Smith and we do believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

Joseph Smith was a convicted con-man. There have been thousands of changes in the Book of Mormon, which Smith supposedly translated from "reformed Egyptian" with infallible divine guidance, all documented and available for inspection.
