I totally agree! My kids have been raised in a very open minded house. They come to me with problems and I offer suggestions so they can make choices and see more than 1 choice (and consequences). The one thing I really I've enforced in their life is honesty & compassion. It helps in allot of situations and I hear them telling their friends some of the same things when their friends get into some kinds of drama. I think they are good kids and it sure worked with my older ones already grown.

I want my little girl to learn to be openminded, and independant. I want her to be able to think for herself and be a leader. From an early age I have read books about different religions and cultures, and we listen to music around the world. Book smarts are important to me too, but most of all I want her to love all people!

I want my children to learn respect above anything else.
Respect for differences, lifestyles and opinions. I can only hope that we instill this in them before they enter the world on thier own. I want them to regard all races, sizes, shapes, colors, orientations as normal and part of the experience of being a human and spending thier time on this earth.

I would like my children to learn responsibility. I want them to learn to think for themselves. I want them to learn compassion and empathy. I want them to learn honesty and integrity. I want them to learn about their own self worth. I want them to learn how to make a difference in the world. I want my children to learn how to be happy and how to give and receive love. I want my children to learn how to be cautious with out being guarded.

If only I can teach my children one thing I want them to know how much God loves them. They need to know that he wants them to grow to be wonderful adults, who yes make mistakes but learns from them. Their are so many things I want to plant inside their beautiful heads. But if only one I want them to know they are truley loved by someone who is much greater than life itself.
