...then that must mean that there is no free will, doesn't it? Why would anyone want an eternal existence without free will? You'd be a robot.

Or, if it's possible for millions and millions of human souls to exist for eternity in heaven with free will and yet not one of them ever choose to sin, then why would God bother creating the earth, when it is in every possible way inferior to heaven?

Please, people, read the whole question before responding. If you're going to agrue the position that free will does exist in heaven, but everyone just somehow chooses not to sin, or that free will exists but there's never any reason to sin, then answer the second part of the question. Why would God create an imperfect earth if such a place already existed?

Biblically, heaven is just a holding pattern. The original view of God was to establish an outpost on earth, and spread His kingdom on the earth. The view is still to spread his Kingdom on earth. When Jesus returns, there will be no more souls in heaven, but only bodies on earth.

We don't sin on the new earth because our natures have been changed. THink of a great white shark. It has free will to choose between a bloody sheep leg and a bucketfull of cabbage. It can choose whatever it wants. But its nature dictates that it will always choose the blood. That's its nature. Humans have a nature that chooses blood (sin.) Upon regeneration, their nature changes, and they have the possibility to choose blood or cabbage (righteousness in this metaphor). (See Romans 7). In the new earth, our natures will be entirely changed, so that we no longer desire blood, any more than a shark would now desire cabbage.

We ALWAYS choose our desires. When we no longer desire sin in any way, we will never choose sin, although we will always possess the opportunity to sin.

No, there is no sin at Homebase, nor is there "sin" here, in reality, I prefer keeping the duality as productive/nonproductive decisions that one can make along the way.

While Home, we are pure energy entities in a place where duality no longer exists, nor does time, nor are there limitations...free-will choice remains, but the perspective & intention are quite different.

The Earth, along with thousands of other "places to be", is for just that purpose...places in which "to be"...tools for our souls to experience the Who & What We Are...we already know this while Home, but what fun is just knowing, when we have the opportunity to experience what we know...See? The purpose of Creation to begin with! Earth, by the way, is the most negative of all places to do such, at the same time providing the greatest opportunity for spirit to grow the quickest in many experiences.

feasible question

let me explain it like this...have you heard of the drug ecstasy?

well let's say heaven is a natural high that is 100 fold greater then the feeling of ecstasy.

see we do have free will, here and i assume in heaven

but the thing is that in heaven you wont be in the same reality that you are here on earth

your conscious will be in pure bliss, you see WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO SIN AND BRING YOUR CONSCIOUS DOWN TO A DOGs LEVEL? do you get what im saying

as i understand earth is a middle level part heaven part hell and we have free will to do as we please...the more sinful our activities the less ecstatic our minds...the less closer to a heavenly state...our minds will be

if you want to get to heaven you have to choose to use your free will to act kindly, hence you can enter the higher realms of reality and life and finally go to heaven

otherwise you'll enter the lower realms and do all the sin you want...but how great does true sin feel? how far is that away from ecstasy?

You know, that is a very good question, but doesn't change my mind about the situation any. If there is no free will in heaven, that is fine, because it is HEAVEN.
You know what is missing in Hell?
An exit.
I would prefer the lack of free will. IF, that is even the case. We may just lose all the evil temptations. If there are no temptations, then why would we sin? I think that is probably the case actually.

No. Free will can be used to choose not to sin.

Perhaps God created the earth to allow us, imperfect mortals that we are, a chance to learn and grow toward perfection. That growth could not occur without trials.

Heaven is for they people who chose to be good here on earth too. They have free will, they just choose not to sin, thats why they are in heaven. Im sure our "bodies" will be perfected in heaven, so we wont ever have those silly things like emotions and irrationality to muck things up.

You may not understand this but eternal peace, joy, and love far outweighs the need for eternal sin. There will be no murder, rape and other heinous crimes there. So you go ahead and think it would be boring if you think these things are exciting.

the bible describes heaven with your spirit on earth, just as you are now, with no memory of anything that happened in a sinful nature while you were on earth. when you get to heaven, you are a spirit with no knowledge of sin, so therefore, making it impossible to sin

You got that one wrong,

There is free will always with humans, IF we make it to heaven, it will be AFTER we learn to use our free will correctly!

Wouldn't that be a nice place to be!

Peace!
