This past weekend I was in an accident with a friend. She hit someone from behind while driving and swerved to the side and pulled over so we can you know get all the insurance info and check if they were ok. When we stopped though the people that she hit took off and were no where in sight. We waited a while and then took off. She got off lucky basically cause her front bumper was all messed up, I could only imagine what happened to the other car.Plus it was like her 3rd accident in like 3 months, her parents would have killed her! The problem now is my neck is really sore and my chest too I'm guessing from the seat belt since it hurts on the right side (was sitting passenger). What should I do?

You should try to make an arrangement with your doctor to make the necessary physical examination.
I was involved in an almost fatal accident a year or two ago and though we managed to come out of it all alive,I and the kids were taken right away to the nearest hospital to do some physical checks just to see if there were any broken bones, fractures, concussion and the likes.Usually the impact is much greater on the front depending on the crash of course if it's rear,front,side..plus the speed of the vehicle.I understand you're one of the passenger/s and not the driver behind the steering wheel but still for your own safety &peace of mind,i suggest you have yourself checked.Sores may look rather normal on the outside but with no right check-ups it could be extremely risky for your health. That shock must had cause your cartillages to involuntarily move entirely out of place explaining the sore you never know...

As for the time-being you can put some neck supports so you won't put too much pressure in your neck from the weight of your head and avoid involuntary neck movements that might further damage a broken bone or an outstretched muscle. You take care.

Go to the hospital and get an X-ray or something. It's too bad that the people she hit went off, you should get your friend's insurance to pay for your injuries-since it was HER car and stuff. It wont be mean 2 do it, it's just getting money 2 make you feel better. If she gets mad about it, tell her that you'd like to be pain free and she's just lucky that she wasnt hurt.

tell your parents and best friend or not...you have injuries because of her accident...you need to go to a doctor and get them checked. sounds like you have whiplash and thats not something to be taken lightly, as I still have several problems with my neck do to an accident in 1994. I'm sure her parents already know because of the damage to the car, but you should also tell them and hopefully they will help with the medical bills you will have

If you are truly injured you need medical attention and I would go to the emergency room ASAP. Your friend sounds like she needs to be taken off the road anyway. I assume she is insured and you may need to make a claim. Don't feel bad about it, she is careless and you could have been hurt worse than you are.

you should go see a doc, you probably got whiplash, it's going to be sore for a couple of days, I had it happen to me.
