If you have a busy household or are always tired of not having everything you need to make meal, menu planning is great. Make a list of what you would like to prepare for the week and write a correlating grocery list. It also helps me to stay on track and spend less at the grocery store if I plan ahead and shop accordingly. I also eat before I go to avoid impulse buying.... Meal planning also takes the fuss out of deciding what the heck to make for dinner, just grab your list and pick something that you planned. Easy..

Menu planning is deciding what you will prepare & serve for the upcoming week.
Then you make your shopping list and go to the grocery store to purchase the ingredients you will need.

You plan ahead for meals that will be prepared for days, weeks or months ahead of when they will be prepared. The military does this.

It means working out what dish you will have with another dish. Of course it includes what you need, getting it and serving it.
