as a single dad of 2 grown kids,how do I get back into the dating scene without hanging out in bars?

I dont drink and dont trust pay for websites...so where do I go to find someone,and mixing work with pleasure is not an option.

This isn't a paysite- I recommend Meetup.com.

Someone recommended it to me through here as a way to meet people (as friends) in the area. I just moved to the area and because I am in HR, I cannot make friends at work.

The site offers groups you can join in your local area (such as a singles group or even a book club if you're into that). They have ALOT for different interests. Even if you dont exactly meet someone in a particular group, you'll be meeting people and maybe someone knows someone who would be perfect for you! The trick is to get out there and meet as many people as possible.

Hey, guy! I've been there (actually, I am there), too. Here is what has worked for me.

Go do the things you like to do. For me, that is cycling. There are a number of positives for this. The women I meet tend to have more toned and athletic bodies, and there is a common interest.

I also have had good luck in church. It's weird the first time you ask someone out after mass, but again, there is common ground and usually a means to meet them in some more social environments.

In some towns there are dating programs for people with children. If you are religious you can find a singles night at a local church. Also you can try to join some kind of club that doesn't take too much time from your kids (or that they can join too) and try to meet a nice woman there.

If you won't pay for it - plentyoffish.com is free. cupid.com is another one that's pretty decent because the people you get to see are in your area/zip code. you can view for free but to contact you have to join. nothing ventured, nothing gained. lots of folks recommend churches or libraries & there's always the grocery store or the park. since you have children, put them in sports or scouts & hit on the single moms there - believe me, there are tons of single moms at those things, just lookin for a decent man. good luck -

there are a lot of ways, aside from going to bars, or pubs. since you are a grown man, you would probably kno where to find girls that attracts you the most. as for me, even if im way young, i look at places where girls are not drunk. i don't look at bars, or even parties. try looking at libraries, or places where you think nice girls are found.but dnt just look for nice girls, look for hott ones too. don't worry, you'll find a good one. i swear.
