I have been a Christian, a Protestant to be exact, and I have been taught about God's Word my whole life, due to my upbringing in a Christian family.

However, I am still unsure of God's presence in my life though I have asked Jesus be my Saviour and Lord MANY times, but it seems that God isn't with me. I have cried out in my thoughts many a time, "God, where art Thou?" But no answer has been given. I want a very strong affirmation that I am God's child, and that God is in control of my life.

What should I do? (No answering with theological reasoning please!)

You say that you cry out to God, asking him where he is. Do you also cry out to him in thankfullness for all the good things that happen on a daily basis?

Our walk with God is different than our act of asking for Salvation.

Your salvation was made complete the moment that you did this in your heart.

Now, what you are searching for is your relationship and walk with him. To begin this walk, you will need to read and re read your bible on your own. Attending Church and listening to the biblical sermon is great, just remember to read along in your own bible and keep true to the words of God and not mans (if they happen to differ).

Once you have started reading your bible and praying for understanding of what you have read, you will start to want to live in a way pleasing to God. You will start putting off many of your bad habits and sinful ways. You will begin to take joy in not sinning and walking in a way pleasing to God.

The more you do this, read, pray and thank God for all things, good and bad, you will feel his presence in your life.

I was told once that God does not test those that do not belong to him. So if you have been feeling the test itself, that is proof of Gods being with you. Take the test, be thankful for the test, and come out the other side giving God the glory for the outcome of the test. Tests and trials are what give us wonderful testimonies that end up helping others. That is our true "work" from God. Follow his ways and his will, and learn over time to leave your self will at his feet.

God is always with u. There is always a reason for his actions. I had once been told a story that i will share. There was a farmer who lived with 8 daughters and was a herder and was very faithful (as you say you are). The devil approached god and said to him " That man down there will lose faith in you if I slowly take away his surroundings." The lord said that no matter what the devil does the man will remain faithful. The next day, the devil killed all of the sheep in the mans field. The man did not fret but embraced and said to his lord "I know there is reason why you do this to me." The next day the devil in a snap sent his house to the ground in ashes. The man looked toward the sky and said " Thank you lord for getting us out alive." The final day the man was tired and frustrated when at last, for the devils final attempt he killed his daughters. This is when the man said "Why lord why? I always remain faithful and yet you hurt me so." The lord came down and said to him " My young follower remain faithful as you so have and all will be right again." The lord had won and the devil seeped back into his domain. THE END

i grow to be raised to have self assurance in the Christian God, yet I actually ought to assert I actually have by no skill had the form of religion a lot of human beings right here look to have. As I grew older, i began to have moral and logical subject matters with the Bible. And in some unspecified time sooner or later (about age 16), for the time of a church provider, i realized (no longer without some marvel) "i don't have self assurance a recognize this anymore". It took me numerous more effective years to sense totally freed, inspite of the undeniable fact that it grow to be like a heavy weight being lifted from me. Now i'm older, yet I actually have not considered any reason to anticipate any god exists. individual above me makes use of the time period "revolt". that's humorous and insulting mutually.

When i was a young boy like you, i did the same thing. But now i'd rather rely on myself to solve my own problems.

Through my own experience, there is in fact no God.

One of the things I do when I need confirmation that God is actually paying attention to me is to open my Bible to a "random" page, and start reading. Every single time, He uses it to tell me something startlingly relevant, whether reassurance, comfort, or teaching...

it may be time you study other religions to know about heaven and hell and not just god or gods and hell beings.

i am not asking you to convert yet as the time is not ripe unless heaven decides.

you just have to know more and make a vow that you do not mislead other people etc etc.

Dont doubt your salvation... despite of what you feel. Yes you are God's child... right now you have to pray because the devil is trying to deceive you... yes, God is in control... you just need to trust, not based on what you feel, see, hear but by what you believe... we live by faith and not by sight... brother.

I thnik you should start considering the implications of the absence that you feel.

And understand that there's nothing wrong with abandoning a faith that doesn't serve a purpose in your life.
