He's cute, funny, charming, smart, everything i ever wanted in a guy...one problem though, he smokes weed like once a day, He knows I don't like it, but he never lies to me about it. (He values honesty, as do i) My friends don't like him because of his rep with it, I don't like it because its illegal!! But i knew about it when we got together...Should i just hope he will stop when he matures a little, try to get him to kick the habbit now, or just accept that is who he is, take it or leave it??????

At this point it's take it or leave it...he will only change when he is ready. Honestly, do you want to be associated with such a person, it could tarnish your reputation.

You knew he did this when you met him, so it's a bit late now. Out of experience(I also had a boyfriend that smoked weed and other thing) I can only say one thing: He can only stop if HE wants to and it wont help trying to convince him to stop or force him to stop or give him ultimatums, because he will only stop when he wants to. In the mean time, try to boost his confidence as much as you can, because people that smoke weed have a low self esteem(They are unsociable or struggle to socialise and this helps tremendously)He will realise in time that he doesnt need it to make him feel happy or more outgoing.Whatever you do, dont be the nagging girlfreind, this only turns him against you.Good luck!

I admire that he's honest with youa bout it.
The fact that it is illegal is of concern as he could end up doing jail time over this. As far as the effect, as long as he's staying home while doing this & not out on the road & he isn't interested in trying stronger drugs, he's probably far better off with this vice than alcohol.

Explain to your fellow that you like him and that you are VERY concerned over the legal aspect of his behavior. See what he says. YOU then, have to make a decision.

You knew about his "habit" before you got with him, so there is nothing you can do about it. Just accept it. But you can request that he doesn't smoke it around you.

just accept him....good men are hard to find....and if he's a good man so what if he indulges in a small bad habit every now and then...as long as it isn't taking over his life or ruining your relationship...let it go...besides if you really care about him it means accepting him unconditionally with his good and bad habits

You can try to reason with him, and see if he will change. You cannot help anyone who refuses help. They must want to change before any progress can be made.

guys dont like when you try to change them, the more you push them, the less they will want to, its something he did before he met you, so you might just have to deal with it, if you dont want to break up with him.
