I did at 2 years of age. My advice is to do it on the weekend so that it is not a big deal if you lose sleep because you won't be going to work the next day.

I would take down one side of the crib first to see how they do. But usually between 2-3. If they are climbing out, it is time. I would also use a toddler bed first, that way if they fall out they aren't going to get hurt. Good Luck:)

It depends on the child. Definitely need to be at least a year old and able to walk well and climb in and out of bed safely first and sleep all night. The sleep all night because you don't want them getting up playing during the night or walking around the house. I also suggest if they are going to be sleeping in another room using a baby monitor so that you can here if he or she gets up during the night. I suggest useing a toddler bed as their first big boy/girl bed. I usually switch my kids at about 18 months.

The perfect time to switch is when your child is climbing out of the crib. Usually about a year and a half - 2 years old.

I think that it is when the baby is climbing out of the crib and can get in and out of the bed safely. My oldest son was able to climb in and out of the crib by 18 months.

I would say from 2 years old and after is a good time but it isnt necessary of course. If the child is capable of climbing out of his/her crib then I think its time.I guess it depends mostly on when the child itself is ready to switch to a "grown ups"bed....

My son was about 2 1/2 years old. But then he was able to climb out of it, which he did - all the time.

I just did this transition, and my daughter is 2. It worked like a charm, I think if I would have tried it any sooner like I was told. I think she would have given me a hard time. She is doing great in it....... 2 weeks later
