im going to MEPS next week and i am about an inch and a half on my stomach too big. I am supposed to be 41 inches and i am 42.5. i am 26 weigh 230 im 5'8 with an 18 inch neck. my recruiter told me to keep running and doing my pushups and sit ups and if i dont meet weight the night before MEPS then i should put preperation h on my stomach side and back area and wrap it with seran wrap. he said it will shrink for a short time. is this true? are there any other ways to do it other than what i am doing? if you have any suggestions let me know.

I'm in the US. ARMY, and I have been battling with AR 600-8-9 (weight control) for about 1 year now. The best thing you have going for you is that you have a huge neck, that's a good thing. If you could do any thing to make it bigger it will only help you, such as go to any gym and get on the neck machine and the shrug machine and work your hart out . About the shrink wrap it only helps a little maby 1/4 of an inch or so, also get a tube of prep oration H and rub that **** all over your little belly but the stuff stinks like hell so before you go in wash it off do as much running, biking and swimming as you can handle before your meps date. I wouldn't worie to much about your measurements due to the needs of the services they need people so that will also work in your favor. The push ups wouldn't hurt but when you go to basic, dont worie they will help you with them lol. i would also go to the store and get some laxative in pill form and take the rec amended dose and dont eat any thing 24 hrs after you take them but take them AT LEAST 24 hrs before your weigh in

I struggled with the Army's weight program for almost all of my career. It's hard when you know you're in shape, but the regulation says you're not.

One of the things I used to do when I went running was wear spandex and a t-shirt, a plastic sweat suit over that, then sweats and a sweatshirt over all of that. I would run a couple miles and sweat as much as I could. Drink TONS of water, flush your system. Stay away from breads and any other carbs. DO IT! It's only for a week. Fresh fruits and veggies have natural fiber in them and will go right through your system while they fill you up so you're not hungry all the time. Eat about 6 times a day, small meals and try to stay between 1500 and 1700 calories a day. I've included a good link to a calorie counter below.

The biggest thing is how bad to you want this. I wanted it pretty badly when I was joining up.

Do whatever you need to stay motivated and dedicated and you'll find yourself on your way to Basic before you know it.

Good luck!!

Dude, stop drinking any coke, only drink water, and drop to one small portioned meal a day. It will suck for a day or so, but you will get used to it. You will loose some weight. Or try a ex-lax, a few hours before.
