It's a nerve, you can't dislocate it. But, as it is in your elbow, and when you hit it on something, you get that painful/tickly feeling. We call it hitting the funny bone, but there's really nothing funny about it at all. Anyway, if you hit it hard enough, it may affect you for longer than a couple minutes. I hit mine, and experienced tingling and numbness in my pinky and ring fingers of that hand for a few days afterwards.

If you decide to go with the chiropractor, ask ahead how long it's usual to get results. One of your earlier posters indicated you should give it three months. To me, that's too long. I'd say a month is plenty of time to at least get some relief. I'm pro chiropractic if it's effective. I had a shoulder pain for a solid 5 years and finally went to a chiropractor and in a month it was gone. I've never had a twinge since and that was 10 years ago. On the other hand I've known people who went to chiropractic clinics for months on end ... and this might be three times a week, only to get temporary relief at best. After a month, think seriously about seeking an opinion from an orthopedist. Surgery is no fun, but even with a surgical procedure you should be good as new in a couple months.

No but you can bruise it badly or even damage it so bad you may been surgery on it. The symptoms are the pinky and ring finger is numb. Try anti-inflamatories and rest it. There are also excersises you can do too. They are listed on the internet if you do a search. My son is having this problem too right now.

Yes you can, but remember to relocate it after you've finished or your head may fall off when you walk away.
