He should be ok. If you mother-in-law will be checking on him, I wouldn't worry too much. But you might want to suggest that she stick around for an hour or so, so he doesn't feel abandoned. When they're that small, they need some playtime to keep them entertained. If he has a favorite toy, make sure you leave it out for him. If not, I suggest the balls with bells in them for kittens since they usually respond well to those.
Lastly, don't be alarmed if he's upset when you get back. If this is the first time you've left him alone like this, he'll probably be a little angry when you get back. It's totally normal for him to ignore you, or occasionally, go outside his box to let you know that he's upset. Things should return to normal by the end of the week at the latest. Have a good vacation!

The first time I had to leave my darling Hippie, he was 3 1/2 months old, and it was for 4 days and nights. :( I was worried sick about him the whole time, and cried a lot haha. We didn't have anyone to check on him, either. Okay, you definitely don't need TWO auto-feeders and auto-waterers. One of each will be way more than enough, it was when I was gone for that long. Also, if you're worried about the litter box getting too gross, buy him another! I bought Hippie another, and he's been using both in the same room ever since. Weird, he goes pee in the little one and poop in the big one haha. Leave lots of toys around for him to play with, and if you have a smaller TV (or a radio), leave it on so he won't feel so alone. Also, spray your cologne or perfume on a few of your clothes, and leave them in a pile on the bed for him to snuggle with. He'll be fine. :)

leave the radio on for him
cats and kittens do quite well on thier own for short periods of time
the main risk is if the water thing tips over... I usually leave out 3 bowls of water in different areas and put out an extra litter box (I have 2 cats so they keep each other company)
this is a short period of time - its good to have somebody check the kitten and your house as well if you are ever gone for more than 48 hours (infact some insurance poilicies are void if you dont have somebody check the house when you are away that long)

How previous is the kitten? How lengthy have you ever had him? Cats do not conflict through separation stress as a lot as canine. Cats are also very self reliant and can want to be left on my own for some days. Your MIL is checking on the kitten, and think ofyou've got tried to make the kitten mushy on your absence. he will be fantastic once you're away. go away the radio on a station with soothing song once you're lengthy gone. convey tabby a particular manage once you come.

He should be fine. We often leave our cats alone for a weekend. Make sure the litter is clean.
