I recently got engaged to the woman of my dreams. And I was wondering about this. I looked up the the word fiancé in the M-W.com dictionary and the only definition given was "a man engaged to be married". So this means that I am HER fiance', but what am I supposed to call her? (Besides love of my life or my ball & chain). :)

Yes, old school, she has a beautiful name, it's Anna Maria. This is how I refer to her when talking to people who already know about us. I was just curious about the proper term when describing our relationship. Thanks for all the good wishes from everyone. And I really like Celeste's last answer... that's how I feel about it too. :D

No, a relationship isn't meant to be like this. i'm married to a armed forces Officer and we've 2 little ones. each and every night after dinner, whilst he isn't away, we chat with the aid of our day, help the ladies folk with homework, choose for a walk with the canines, make plans for the weekend and so on. we are a kinfolk and we behave like one. there is no Xbox, and the television is in simple terms on for specific programmes as much as an hour an afternoon. Your husband needs reminding what concerns. Treating your spouse as your lover and pal, and spending time with your little ones is important to the happiness of all in touch and he needs to learn that till now the area implodes on him.

First of all congrats !!

You have to choose a name in which she feels happy as well.
Women feel more passionate when they get a feeling that they are been attached to someone always.

I can give an hint but for the final name you have to work out.

Call her with a name that means something like "Joe's Girl ", "Joe's Women", "Joe's partner", "Joe's Darling"

Best would be if you can find one word for the same.

Best wishes for a happy married life and welcome to the gang of married men.

Fiance' for both of you, has always been the rule of thumb. I have never heard it called anything else for the woman.

Fiancé/ee is socially acceptable. You could also introduce her as your "intended" or "the future Mrs. (your last name.)"
