YOU DON'T SAY IF YOU HAVE CABLE ETC. IF YOU HAVE A BOX IT HAS IT'S OWN VOLUME CONTROL, TRY ADJUSTING THAT. ALSO THE SUGGESTION TO GO INTO THE SET-UP MENU AND LOOK FOR THE INITIAL SETTING (SOMETIMES A SLIDER, OR NUMBERS) IS HELPFUL. ADJUST THE VOLUME THERE.
IF YOU DECIDE TO HOOK UP TO YOUR STEREO (ALWAYS BETTER SOUND) BY-PASS THE TV AND HOOK YOUR CABLE/SATELLITE DIRECTLY TO THE STEREO.

You can use a amplifier with a speaker set to sound up your TV. Your TV should have an audio line out for that.

Look to see if the set has "audio out." If it does and it is stereo, go get an inexpensife home audio system. Circuit City.
