At 2 wks he should still be with his mother, are u syringe feeding? Also try holding him to ur heart beat, this will make him feel safe, or rap a ticking clock on a blanket and keep it close to him, it will sound like his mom... if u have no success then try asking a vet

They're right, the kity does need to go to a vet., But they can be raised on a bottle. You need a pet nurser with the small nipple, and as someone else mentioned, you have to buy the milk replacement for kittens. It's sold at Walmart. You may have to start with a small dropper, just put it in the kittens mouth and squeeze a little at a time, careful not to choke them. Also kittens at this age, without their mothers are more prone to disease. An upper respirotory is very likely and fatal if untreated. It isn't going to have the benefit of the immunities mother's milk could produce. Do you know you also have to help them eliminate waste once they've eaten? You have to massage their little bellies low in their abdomens to stimulate the bladder and bowel.... I'm not sure you realize how hard this will be. The positive side tho, is that the kitty will grow up and think you are it's Mommy. You can raise it, But it's not an easy task, and you have to feed them every 2-3 hoursuntil they are 4 weeks old. just give it your best shot, I think you'll be amazed and surprised at the results. Good Luck To You

Oh the poor little thing. At two weeks old it should be with its mother until it's at least 8 weeks old. If by when you say "food" do you really mean "milk" because he shouldn't be having solids for several weeks yet? What happened to the mum? Could you add some more information? It doesn't sound good to me. I would take it to the vet ASAP because it will die without milk. Good luck. P.S. If you can get it back to its mother then please do so asap but take it to vet first.

Keep him warm, wrap a little clock in a peice of very soft fabric and put it next to kitty when he is alone, the tick-tack immitates his mother's heart beat. You will have to use a special feeding bottle.
Make sure he pees and poops also, you will have to take a soft peice of tissue, wet it a bit with warm water and rub his bottom for a while, immitating his mother's licking. It sounds disgusting, but it is very important to enable small kittens to pee and poop. It is urgent that the kitten is fed, he might be dehydrated. You have to be patient, gently squeeze a few drops of milk in his mouth a couple of times, pet him to immitate his mother tongue, immitate purring also, he should be fed many times a day and at night also.
The best thing to do however is to find a surrogate mother as soon as you can. Do you know any freind or neighbour that has a female cat that is feeding right now, ask them if you could leave kitty with her for a couple of weeks, make sure the female accepts the strange kitten. It is very rare that she will refuse. Call your vet and ask if she/he can take kitty.

Take him to the vet if the mother cat is still around the kitten should be with it's mother, and if you are talking about starting it on dry food they shouldn't be eating that until they are 3-4 weeks, but mine just half way started and they are 6 weeks old.

Cats can go downhill fast if they don't eat or drink and kittens can get dehydrated very quickly. Your cat needs to be seen by a vet right away unless you can get her to eat and drink now. If she has upper respiratory infection, she may not be able to smell food and will refuse to eat. If the baby food doesn't work, you may want to try stinky foods like tuna to stimulate eating. Add pedialyte to her food if she'll eat. A steam bath may clear up her sinuses so she can eat. I'm just guessing here. Call a vet right away for good, sound advice. I hope she doesn't have the Fading Cat Syndrome. Please keep us posted on her condition. Good luck.

KMR is the only food a kitten this age should have (thats the expensive kitten milk replacement -NOT the crap fake milk treat stuff) and it should be bottle fed - forceable if you have to.. has he been stimulated to go to the bathroom?? you do this by wiping his bottom with a warm wet cotton ball.... he may be refusing to eat because he is feeling tummy pains

see a vet.

that kitten should be with it's mum, ask any vet meanwhile get a eardropper put some of that kitten milk in it and put it down the poor kittens throat it's got to swallow some. keep doing this until it gets some or you get advice from a vet. If not the poor thing is going to die it doesn't know how to suck or eat yet. it's mum helps him with that.

2 week old kittens will just give up and die if taken away from their mother and litter mates, its also known as 'fading puppy syndrome'.
Your kitten urgently needs a foster home with a litter around the same age, the foster mother should accept it as they raise their kittens in communal nests in feral colonies, and feed each others kittens.
A vet, the RSPCA, or a cat shelter can all help you find a foster mother but this is very urgent, the kitten will refuse to eat and just die if you do nothing.

Try feeding him on goats milk. Its the closest thing to natural mothers milk you can get for him.Make sure however, that it is fresh and not processed from a container. Get it straight from the goat if you can. Also, after you feed your little guy, make sure you stimulate his bowels by washing his stomach and nether regions with a soft warm wet washcloth. If you dont, he will plug up and not only will he become uninterested in eating more, he will in all probability die. I hope this helps. Good Luck and Blessed Be~
