there is no reliable empirical evidence that supports the existence of Jesus. as a matter of fact there is all the more reason to believe that Jesus was a myth. Many different stories convering him that sounds more like a mythical being that people felt free to add or take away from the story, rather than a recent person of history. christians will have some passage from Josephus, that many christians scholars admit is clearly later interpolation.
there are other passages, only a few, that really only mention the existence of christians. There are christians today, but its obvious that their existence is not proof of their claims.

It's likely Jesus is based on one (or perhaps more) real people. And over time, more and more things were attributed to him.

For example, in the Synoptic Gospels, Jesus is not associated with being God. But by the time the Gospel of John was written (after the year 100) this idea was gaining ground in the gentile Church. The idea of Jesus being God was laster incorporated into mainstream Christianity.

The Jesus we know today was basically finalized at the Council of Nicea in the year 325.

What some people, well, many people, don't realize, is that the Bible is not the only reference to Jesus, there are tons of other documents about Jesus that are not included in the Bible. Historical records are widely used as proof of events and people. Just because you did not know them or were not there when the event occurred, does not automatically conclude that the event or the person did not exist. People who really want to know the Truth will study more than just the Bible.

The only "evidence" of Jesuses existence is the Gospels written 60 years after the events in question. There are many contradictions in the different gospels. Not exactly court room standard evidence!

As Christians we do not need physical evidence of Jesus ever living on earth, we live by faith and not by sight. Jesus did say, Blessed are those who believe but did not see."

Even if there was people would still not believe, they did not believe when God in human form walked this earth why would they believe now!!

Jesus promised to come back and I can guarantee you that many will still not believe. The devil has a tight grip on people and he is not letting go.

Apart from the bible, there were a number of Roman Historians who documented his existence.

Also look at things that were mentioned in the bible at other sources eg - the star that appeared at his birth, is believed to be to be the planet Saturn / Jupiter appearing in Aries (which translated meant the birth of a new king)

very little outside the bible. despite the romans being great recorders of history they seem to not have wrote one bit about the man. this is strange since he was supposedly one of the greatest figures of all time.
prayers dedicated to jesus and artwork showing his image did not appear until hundreds of years latter leading many scholars to conclude he was a latter christian invention

As Simon Greenleaf stated, there is enough evidence to prove Jesus existed in the court of Law. The answer is massive in content, please read Josh McDowell's He Walked Among Us, published by Here's Life Publishers.
