I have a four and one-half month old Cinnamon-Cheeked conure and he is beginning to molt. I have read that they usually begin their first molt betweek six and ten months. He is happy and healthy and acting just like normal and being the clowny little brat that he is. I have read that they can and sometimes do molt earlier and I just wanted some advice to be sure that this can be the case.

from the sounds of things your bird is doing just fine, some individual birds molt earlier or later than others.

I have 2 african greys, one starts molting in June, the other in August.

your green cheek conure is just molting earlier than other individuals do.

some species of birds are genetically programmed to molt earlier or later in the year than other species.

Sounds just fine to me. You can't go 100% on what other birds do because each bird is its own. Some do things earlier..some do them later.

Sometimes they moult early or late due to temperature of the environment, and other similar factors.
