ASL University is an online curriculum resource for American Sign Language students, instructors, interpreters, and parents of deaf children. Feel free to use the various lessons and resources for self-study. There is no need to register or pay (unless you want documentation to fulfill high school, college, or continuing education course requirements). If you are a teacher, I give you permission to use the lessons to teach your in-person classes. Enjoy! -- Dr. Bill Vicars

The shortestway to learn a language is to be immersed in the culture of the language. Volunteer in a school or chruch setting where the people are deaf and signing. In addition, get a book of signs from the library and study signs. Attend a signing church and listen to the songs while the signs are done.

Step 1: a VERY good book (rare to find one these days)
Step 2:immersion(=go to that country or frequent only native speakers all the time).
That's the fastest you can get without any classes.
PS Sorry, I only just saw you meant "sign" and not "Foreign" language. I don't withdraw my tip, though, for it might be of use to others here. Good luck!

I would check out different books and learn sign language for popular songs or songs that you like and listen to frequently so when you hear them you can practice...and that's a lot of words you're learning there. Then when you're talking, try and sign what you're saying in your head and see what you've learned. You can learn it easy, it's just a matter of keeping it fresh in your memory and using it as often as possible.

You can quickly learn sign language if you could find a good book. I learned it quickly because usually they are illustrated through pictures, drawings.. so you dont need to read alot. It would also help if you know someone who could sign language.. Good luck!!!
