What are the different amounts of calories that can be burned by doing different exercises, eg, swimming- 567 per hour, dancing etc??

I am a member at http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk and they have an exercise section which will tell u how many calories you have burned. There is also a section where u input what food u have had and it tells u how many calories you have had.

the number of calories is hard to figure out as a generalization. it actually depends on how difficult the activity is for you. for general guidelines try http://www.fitday.com. They have a caloric intake calculator and goal setting area as well as an area to figure calories burned by daily activity.

if you walk on a beach for half an hour you can burn up to 80% more calories than walking on normal ground, but thats only helpful if you happen to live near a beach! sorry lol

I know that swimming burns alot of calories bec ause you are using alot of enrgy if you are not sure con tact your nutionalaist or your gp for advice

Cals per minute:
Swimming - Moderate = 9.78
Swimming - Recreational = 5.92
Swimming - Vigerous = 14.28
Dancing, Modern, moderate = 3.6
Dancing, Modern, Vigerous = 5.54
Walking 2.5mph = 3.86
skipping., moderate = 11.06
running 5.22mph (1mile in 11 1/2 minutes) = 10.04

look at this site. I think though it all depends on your fitness. THe more work you have to do (ie the less fit you are) the more you burn. So if you jog for 30 min and you are unfit. and somebody who is fit jogs for 30 min they burn less than you.
