Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, we prophesized in your name, and cast out devils in your name, and worked many miracles in your name'.
And then I will say to them, 'I never knew you. Get away from me, you wicked people'."
-Matthew, 7;15-23

The majority of Christians today are the people Jesus is speaking of in Matthew 7:15-23. They think they won't burn because they claim to priase Jesus and work in his name, but they will, almost all of them, burn in hell, no matter how Christian they think they are, right?

Of course, this question is based on the assumption that there is even a hell in the first place.......

There are millions of people today who call themselves Christians but refuse to do what God has commanded, either to become Christians or to remain faithful Christians.

The majority of religious Americans think that they are Christians because they "prayed a little prayer" and "asked Jesus into their hearts to be their personal Lord and Savior." The Bible says no such thing; those who became Christians in the Bible did so by hearing the word of truth (Romans 10:17), believing it (Mark 16:16), repenting of their past sins (Acts 2:38), confessing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (as in Acts 8:37), and then being baptized in order to wash away their sins (Acts 22:16; 1 Peter 3:21). After that, one must continue to be faithful, even to the point of death (Revelation 2:10).

Many people will be surprised on the day of Judgment. It would be better to prepare now.

Not a bad question. I agree with Poetic. Some who profess to be Christian, even preachers, if they truly haven't been born again and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord & Savior, are in for a surprise. People that do good works, ask for money for particular religious organizations, done healings (for their "personal" glory), prophesized, etc., but don't know Jesus or have the love in them of Jesus, could seriously be misconceived about themselves.

However, YOU say "almost all of them will burn in hell"? That's a stretch of your imagination.

They probably weren't Christians to begin with, then. The Pharisees in the Bible are very "religious", but Jesus called them Whitewashed tombs filled with bones. I think what He meant was that they made sure that their image was attractive, but their Hearts weren't focused on what was important. I think it's right when you say that we can't get to heaven No matter how Christian we think we are, because there's no way we can save ourselves. You can know you're a Christian if you Believe that Jesus is God's Son, that He died on a cross and was resurrected 3 days later, and you proclaim Him as Lord. Like the Bible says, the road is wide that leads to destruction, but the way to Life is narrow. Just remember John 14:6 "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can get to the Father except through Me." Hope that helped answer your question!

Most people who claim to be Christians have a head knowledge of Christ, but have never accepted Him as Lord of their lives When you become a Christian, you become a new creation, all the old things have passed away, and everything is new.

If someone is continually sinning without repenting, and doing what they want instead of letting Christ work through them, then maybe they never really became true Born-again Christians, and yes, will spend eternity in Hell.

Your half right!

I can spot them now! The problem is they think they are doing what Christ wants them to do and say. And if they pick up $ on the way by changing a few things well were getting more members that way and that's good ain't it! I mean if we leave out the bad stuff and repeat "Jesus Saves" that enough, so, Jesus should be happy with that!
Right!

Many people work hard in the name of Jesus. On the day they are rewarded abundantly, do they claim that it is the result of their hard work? Or is it blessings from God?

If it is because of their hard work, then they needn't work in the name of Jesus. Just plain hard work will do.

If it is blessings from God, then there is no need for all the hard work. God will provide.

Evil is trust in the flesh and forgeting our faithful God.

Being a Christian is more than working hard in the name of God. It is entering His rest. In His rest, we sit and He work. So when we are rewarded, we know it is Him that provides.

But how many Christians today can truly put their trust God's faithful covenant?

Mere humans have no right(s) to judge another person. We don't have the ability like God does to see the minds and hearts to know who actually believes in God and who doesn't. God is the ultimate judge and He shall decide who goes where and when. He's the only one that has the ability to look at our past, present and future. Humans are limited and can only see the past and present. God however looks at the big picture.

Good luck and I hope this has helped.

That depends. I think what the verse is referring to are Christians who do these things in God's name then take all the credit rather than giving God all the glory.

No body's going to hell.
It's a work of fiction to keep us under the control of the church. Relax. Don't go judging people. That's for God to do.
Your book ( bible or quaran or Torah) doesn't make you an expert in things real.
If I cared enough to save the world I would start my own religion and write a holy book that everyone could agree with. Then kill them if they wouldn't believe.

Who do you think will go to heaven? Those who praise Jesus or those who reject Him. As the verses tell us, Jesus was referring to the wicked, the hypocrite, the impostor, and the false believers. That means they are not Christians by heart and soul. Who can tell who is and who is not? Only Jesus.
