Not all [people] believe Mormans do [wierd stuff].
The Church of Latter Day Saints has a distinct culture, practice and theology that mirrors Christianity in many ways while widely demarcating from it in others. As such it is no different than any other religion that is not Christian.
However, because some Mormons practice some things considered not contemporary, some people may consider them to be "unusual". One such example is polyamory. Other examples are that a book of the Bible was written 1900 years after the original bible, and that American Indians are the 'Lost Tribe of Isreal'.

Many feel like things that they don't no anything about or things that are not what they believe are "weird". I don't believe that the Mormon religion teaches weird things. I just don't personal believe in some of the Mormon teachings. But I do however respect other peoples religious beliefs and I feel like all l Christians should do the same.

Well. it may be perhaps that they teach something other than what is taught in the Bible, I dont believe that Joseph Smith had a "vision" and perhaps maybe because they dont believe that Jesus Christ is the Son-Of God.
Is Mormonism Christian? This may seem like a puzzling question to many Mormons as well as to some Christians. Mormons will note that they include the Bible among the four books which they recognize as Scripture, and that belief in Jesus Christ is central to their faith, as evidenced by their official name, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Furthermore, many Christians have heard the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing Christian hymns and are favorably impressed with the Mormon commitment to high moral standards and strong families. Doesn’t it follow that Mormonism is Christian?
To fairly and accurately resolve this question we need to carefully compare the basic doctrines of the Mormon religion with the basic doctrines of historic, biblical Christianity. To represent the Mormon position we have relied on the following well-known Mormon doctrinal books, the first three of which are published by the Mormon Church: Gospel Principles (1997), Achieving a Celestial Marriage (1976), and A Study of the Articles of Faith (1979) by Mormon Apostle James E. Talmage, as well as Doctrines of Salvation (3 vols.) by the tenth Mormon President and prophet Joseph Fielding Smith, Mormon Doctrine (2nd ed., 1979) by Mormon apostle Bruce R. McConkie and Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith.
1. IS THERE MORE THAN ONE TRUE GOD?
The Bible teaches and orthodox Christians through the ages have believed that there is only one True and Living God and apart from Him there are no other Gods (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10,11; 44:6,8; 45:21,22; 46:9; Mark 12:29-34).
By contrast, the Mormon Church teaches that there are many Gods (Book of Abraham 4:3ff), and that we can become gods and goddesses in the celestial kingdom (Doctrine and Covenants 132:19-20; Gospel Principles, p. 245; Achieving a Celestial Marriage, p. 130). It also teaches that those who achieve godhood will have spirit children who will worship and pray to them, just as we worship and pray to God the Father (Gospel Principles, p. 302).

Have you read the boook that tells you that God is in heaven with a wife making baby spirirts? TO most of us that is adultry and God teaches in the Bible that is wrong, so why would hHe do that? Havew you also been taught that you can atone f for the sins of someone else who has died? That is not possible we are all responsible for our own sins and can not repent for someone else. To me these are strange teachings. Not condeming anyone just feel that they are strange ang against God.

You think a guy being visited by "Angels of Light" and digging up a book that has mysterious writing on it and each page is a gold plate and Joseph Smith BEING THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN READ IT FROM FROM BEHIND A CURTAIN IN SOME UNKNOWN TONGUE "IS 'NOT' WEIRD"?
Him being tar and feathered is not weird? Well then I shudder to think what you consider is weird!

Things for you to think about:
1 Who is Jesus to you?
2 What was the purpose of his death, burial and resurrection?
3 Can you say with conviction that you are a child of God and will reign with him one day?
4 And, How do you know you are a child of the living God (assuming you answered the third question 'yes')
