Just deactivate the Yahoo toolbar (Tools -> Extensions). And then download Adblock Plus - it's great!

You can use Firefox with Google toolbar, but you don't have to use it. You can uninstall toolbar if you want.

Firefox is more secure that IE because it does not premit the running of certain types of background scripts, etc. that could be used to transmit spyware or viruses to your computer. The Goggle toolbar does not affect this.

You will also find that there are some sites (such as update.mircosoft.com) that will not work with Firefox because the scripts on them are blocked. So you will want to keep IE for those rare occasions when you have to have a different browser that runs the scripts.

Firefox is safe ; you don't need to uninstall internet explorer.
Firefox has its own versions of google and yahoo toolbar. They are separate from the toolbars in internet explorer.
You can safely run both browsers together, just make one of them your default browser.
