I have just asked a question about The Sermon on the Mount and have had two replies - presumably from Christians who have more or less accused me of being judgemental. For a start I already said I am not a Christian. Secondly is this going to be the way Christians get around tough questions, accusing people of being being judgemental because they point out that Christians are killing people? This all sounds sounds like burying your head in the sand to me!

i find most supposed christians to be the most judgemental of all people. I thought that was a big no no yet they are constantly judging people on this site and damning them to hell. I was of the understanding that god himself was the one who should do that and all those believing in christ should help those most in need.. including the drug addicts, prostitutes, possessed, gay, troubled etc. isn't that what jesus did? He helped and loved everyone but it seems today that christians in general have a high moral ground that they stand and point down from, judging who deserves what.

Hello wotsit,

Actually the Judge not question is much more complex than it first seems, because in fact Christians are called to judge using the Bible as the cannon which means measure errrrrrrm and also Jesus is the word. How ever the bible applies to people that believe it i reckon, so i have to watch me Ps and Qs.

I think what you have to remember that we are all here in our situations as Christians in grace,,,,, no one is perfect no one reaches Gods standards. Jesus is the only one and only way. That's what i get out of the bible. So you can look at me and say 'oi Mandi you aint perfect ' AND YOU WOULD BE RIGHT boggle I AM NOT lol. mwah ha ha ha ha anyway cheers for the question, i will think some more, i might come back and answer again

Just remember that Christ was a man and not a religion. His words are awesome but he was a teacher. Anyone who claims to be Christian is saying they are like Christ, that is what Christian means. Anyone who claims to be like someone else they never met who died almost 2000 years ago shouldn't be trusted. If a person believes in God and in the words of Christ then they shouldn't even need a religion just some friends who feel the same way. When you are judged by a Christian let them know that Jesus said that love was his greatest commandment.

Hey Mick H,

My first observation about your statement above is that people in every religion have been killing people in every other religion since the dawn of religion. That said - the morals taught by every major religion are Respect, Tolerance, Love.

It is the hypocrites that are causing discourse and wars, not any particular religion.

PS, it is "The Sermon on the Mound" as I was taught. Perhaps it is written as Mount elsewhere.

what about non-Christians? they never kill anyone? go to a prison and ask around, how many of them were non-christian when they committed the act? I think you will be surprised. most found salvation behind bars.
a true Christian does not kill, they are loving toward all of God's creation. if you are talking about the war that is going on, Jews are not Christians. they are under the law of Moses. they do NOT claim Jesus Christ as their Messiah.
there are many mis-guided people out in the world that claim to be Christian and are not, the Bible says that many will come in the last day and say "Lord Lord, did we not cast out demons in your name?" "and do all these wonderful works for your name sake?" and the Lord will respond "ye workers of iniquity, I NEVER knew you". not "I used to know you" but "I NEVER knew you".

Looked at the question, thought it was a very good one. Problem is people don't like to be shown as hypocrites. If people want to say they follow the teachings of Jesus, then follow them!

Its all so convoluted isnt it?
The whole Christian thing on Answers does my head in. As soon as you ask anything interesting you get pounced on and denounced.
Not that I care about being denounced, it reminds me that I am not accepted by folks who think that way, so suits me!
I thought you question was a valid one.

I answered, I don't like heights! That does not smack of being judgemental, or have I completely lost the plot again!

I agree with you, rather than answering the question, they just swing it around and say that "you're against god" or you judgmental...Doesn't that make them hypocritical...It says in the bible..."Judge, lest ye be judged"...It seems to me that they are the first judge people who don't agree with them.
