When I was around 8 I used to have a really hard time falling asleep. So I cleared my mind and refused to think about much of anything. And I didn't let myself be stressed out because I couldn't get to sleep.

drinking milk promotes sleep..read a book after downing a glass of warm milk. usually, on good nights, it works for me. sleeping early greatly adds help too, and by early i mean 1030 or 1000 pm

step away from the computer, turn off the tv and lay down in the dark. you ma want to try a glass of milk to ward off the thirsty/hungry thoughts.

Try Valerian Root...it is natural & gentle....also try deep breathing, just concentrate on breathing.
